Trayvon Martin murder suspect George Zimmerman scheduled for new bond hearing

(CBS/AP) ORLANDO, Fla. - A new bond hearing is set for George Zimmerman, the Florida neighborhood watch volunteer charged in the fatal shooting of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin

The hearing is set for the morning of June 29.

Zimmerman returned to jail Sunday because a judge revoked his $150,000 bond after prosecutors claimed he and his wife, Shellie, deceived the court during an April hearing.

At the hearing, Shellie Zimmerman testified that the couple had limited funds for bail because she was a full-time student and her husband wasn't working. Prosecutors say Zimmerman actually had raised $135,000 in donations from a website he created.

The same judge is scheduled to preside at the next bond hearing.

Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder for fatally shooting 17-year-old Martin during a confrontation in a Sanford, Fla., gated community where Zimmerman lived. He's pleaded not guilty, claiming self-defense.

Those pictures are of the REAL 17 year old Trayvon.

Regarding Trayvon, talk about being in the wrong place, at the wrong time with the wrong paranoid depraved minded armed wannabe cop watching and following him. It really sucked for Trayvon to have to encountered this paranoid armed stranger that dark rainy evening.

You Libs sure are big on the negative descriptive phrases.
How do you think Zimmerman felt when he asked, "What are you doing around here?", and received a punch in the face as a reply?

This case has been an obvious case of self defense from the beginning.
The Sanford police made absolutely the right decision in not charging Zimmerman.
This special prosecutor is nothing but mutt!!!


by Tim2710 June 8, 2012 10:29 PM EDT: The evidence indicates that Martin doubled back to confront Zimmerman otherwise his body would have have been just 35 yards from Zimmerman's SUV. A few minutes before he was killed, Martin ran away from Zimmerman's SUV and out of Zimmerman's sight.

Martin could have called 911 but instead chatted with his girlfriend.

Martin could have gone to his nearby home after he lost sight of Zimmerman and while Zimmerman finished his 911 call.

If unamrmed Trayvon killed Zimemrman first, Trayvon can claim self-defense because Zimmerman pointed a gun at Trayvon and Trayvon feared for his life so he stood his ground. The first one who kills the other person and gets to tell the story wins.

It is OBVIOUS that based on the events leading to the killing that paranoid Zimmerman playing cop pointed the gun at Trayvon to attempt to detain him, then Trayvon had no choice but to stand his ground and defend himself. But Zimmerman lives and gets to tell his fabricated story.

And the TRUTH is buried in the grave with Trayvon.

It is simple. If when Zimmerman asked,"What are you doing around here?", if Martin had simply answered,"I'm stayin wif my pops, down the street", he would still be alive today.

I have poured through the available evidence and there has been nothing to suggest that Zimmerman's gun ever left it's holster until one second before the shot was fired in an effort to stop the assault he was enduring.

It is obvious that when confronted by someone asking his business, Martin became enraged and started punching Zimmerman. He then jumped on top and started the MMA style, ground and pound.

It is amazing that there are people who refuse to accept this senario. It makes the most sense, it fits all of the available evidence, and it matches Zimmerman's account of that evening's events.

The burden to prove this account to be untrue beyond a doubt, is solely the prosecution's. I don't believe that will be possible!


by es165 June 7, 2012 11:09 PM EDT: Zimmerman seems to be above the law. Florida Statute 903.035 makes it a 3rd degree felony crime to present false information at a 2nd degree murder bond hearing.

The judge also quikly ignored the second passport issue is well???

Zimmerman appears to be above Florida Law. Statute 903.035 makes it a Felony 3 crime to present false information at a 2nd degree murder bond hearing.

Also the judge quikly dismissed Zimmerman's second passport??

by Tim2710 June 7, 2012 11:59 PM EDT: The judge didn't think the passport issue was important. Zimmerman gave the 2nd passport to his lawyer weeks ago, and the lawyer just forgot to turn it over to the court. Once the lawyer had the passport, Zimmerman could not use it.

Did Zimmerman actually testify about his finances at the bail hearing? The judge said Zimmerman could not act like a "potted plant" and remain silent while his lawyer said he was broke.

I don't see how it can be perjury if Zimmerman didn't testify himself.

I think the prosecution knew Zimmerman had raised lots of money with his Paypal account and played Zimmerman's wife by not asking the right questions.

The bail revocation is really the first bright spot for the prosecution after a heavily criticized affidavit, a terrible performance by their investigator at the bail hearing and the release of lots of evidence consistent with self defense.

That's ********. A lot of people on trial for murder get NO bail, yet he's getting ANOTHER bail hearing. ********. Not to mention the fact that he SHOULD be getting perjury charges, instead of another hearing. But that's not going to happen either...

I don't care who you support, but for this guy to get another bail hearing is wrong. Pure and simple.
