Chardon High School Shooting: Multiple students wounded at Ohio school

(CBS/AP/WOIO) CHARDON, OH - A sheriff's official is confirming a shooting at a northeastern Ohio high school.

Civil deputy Erin Knife with the Geauga County Sheriff's Office says the shooting was reported around 7:30 a.m. Monday at Chardon High School. According to CBS affiliate WOIO, one student has been taken into custody. At this time, police say they do not believe there is a second gunman.

CNN is reporting at least three students were wounded when two people entered the cafeteria of the high school and opened fire just as the school day was beginning, police and a school board member said.

Three or four students were hit by the gunfire, said Larry Reiter of the Chardon Schools Board of Education. He did not know their conditions, but said helicopters had been called to take the injured to a hospital.

WOIO reports that the Chardon Fire Department has confirmed they were called to the high school for the shooting. The fire dispatcher said multiple students are injured.

Chardon High School as well as other schools in the area are now on lock down.

The Superintendent immediately canceled classes at all Chardon Schools. Students still on school buses were being dropped back off at their homes, and parents are being called to pick up students already at school.

Chardon is about 30 miles east of Cleveland.

Who are the parents and students praying to anyway? Remember: Science classes in high schools instruct their students that life created itself...you know...random mutations guided by natural selection over a gazillion years?...and consequently a young man implements HIS right...as the fittest...to SURVIVE! Then the school staff asks "..but why did he do this...?"! Answer: High school bio-origins curricula: pseudo-science.; Reply to this comment

It has nothing to do with "gun safety" and everything to do with people missing the signs of a chemically unstable individual who unfortunately did something horrible by shooting at other students. Seriously, do you think the world would just be 100% better if there were no guns?! Don't comment on a tragedy when you have nothing relevant to say.; Reply to this comment

This shouldnt come as a surprise to anyone. Legal professionals are deliberately encouraging gun violence and gangsterism. The real source of this problem is police and their need to strut around with this thing that makes us all less safe on their hip. Almost all law enforcement are card carrrying NRA supporting republicans happily keeping dockets full for their dem leaning lawyer business partners. This unfortunate tragedy is completely a byproduct of american bar associations having talked their way around all of their checks and balances and usurped control of all 3 branches of government. Yes triggering violation of separation of powers but also backdoor dealing and having destroyed the efficacy of the 2 party system since they are the largest, most influential, and well moneyed group in both parties. I ask anyone who finds these words to go out and ask the first law enforcement "executive" that they find what the second amendment is. I will postulate that the overwhleming majority of them will reply... The right to bear arms and leave off the part about the well regulated militia. They always do because I have asked many of them myself over the years.
