Prosecutors are scheduled to resume building their case Monday against Huguely, the Chevy Chase, Md., man accused in the May 2010 death of 22-year-old Love, of suburban Baltimore. She also was a lacrosse player at UVA.

The 24-year-old defendant has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and other charges related to the couple's final, allegedly violent encounter.

Prosecutor Dave Chapman has called witnesses who described Huguely as having a growing drinking problem and being jealous of Love's involvement with a lacrosse player from North Carolina.

The defense has cast Love's death as an accident.
