Conn. ex-cop gets 10 years for child porn

(CBS/AP) HARTFORD, Conn. - Former Connecticut police captain David Bourque has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for what authorities say was one of the largest and most disturbing child pornography cases they've seen.

A federal judge in Hartford sentenced Bourque on Friday. He pleaded guilty last year to receipt and distribution of child pornography and could have gotten up to 20 years in prison.

Prosecutors say Bourque was caught with more than 26,000 images and videos of child pornography on his computers showing the sexual abuse of young boys, including infants and toddlers.

Bourque apologized for his actions Friday and said he "spiraled out of control" during the several months he was downloading and sharing the porn. He said he never physically abused any children.

by angelofurnightmare February 14, 2012 1:09 PM EST: This sick ba$t@rd doesn't deserve to live...I say serve him up to the parents of the abused children who will live a lifetime with the emotional scars...whether he did the physical abusing or just paid to see it doesn't matter to me....I hope he is thrown in with the general prison population who often don't take well to cops turned criminal or to child abusers...hope he dies a slow nasty death!!!; Reply to this comment

There are also ways other people can download on your computer as use your computer as a server. Make sure your protected with antivirus software.

can we say slap on the wrist?

and where is his picture??? they do it for everyone else, convicted or not...

i think cops should always get the maximum when they get convicted. first off when are they ever convicted of a crime??? secondly, they know better, they know the laws and penalties.
