(CBS) - Amanda Knox appears not to be deterred by four years in an Italian prison.

Knox's attorney says that the 24-year-old "loves" Italy and would even like to go back to Perugia, where she was studying abroad when she was accused of murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher, reports Italian wire service ANSA.

Her attorney, Carlo Dalla Vedova, said Knox may even return this year to testify as a defense witness for her parents who were charged with slandering the Perugia police, ANSA reported Tuesday.

Dalla Vedova told ABC News, "I hope they will be acquitted. They certainly didn't make any defamatory remarks when they repeated Amanda's statement to the press."

Knox finally returned to American soil in the fall of 2011. Her return came after her 2009 murder conviction was overturned on Oct. 3 amid doubts over DNA evidence. Her co-defendant, Italian Raffaele Sollecito, also was cleared of the 21-year-old Kercher's 2007 murder.

If it were me, I would never go back there again for the rest of my life. But maybe now that she's been acquitted she doesn't have any fear of being harmed while she's there, maybe she's receiving invitations from fans to come back? Still, nothing would get me back to a country where I was falsely locked up for four years!

She has been acquitted but the decision apparently will be appealed. This will not affect her - neither her nor Sollecito would actually have to attend court. Her only problem whilst in Italy, and if guilty, would be if Guede or Sollecito suddenly decided to speak out or " spill the beans" as they say. If she is genuinely innocent she has nothing to worry about.

Amanda, I love Italy too, but there's no way in hell I'd go back after being incarcerated for years accused of murdering my roommate. Visit some where else!

Apparently she's very forgiving? That's an admirable trait but I think most of us who were relieved to see her come home, would rather not see her go back. Who knows what the Italians may cook up to keep her there.

I kinda think the Italian authorities need to apologize for how that prosecutor over-reached his authority. What an awful mess, and there are STILL abundant hard feelings from those people who actually believed his tabloid lies. Amanda will have to live with that cloud forever, possibly, unless the Italians have an attack of conscience and decide they need to clear up the lies that came out in the press.

Which makes it incredibly ironic that her parents are being sued for slander. Let the pot call the kettle black... apparently it doesn't matter if the Italian courts smear somebody's reputation without any evidence???

I believe your so wrong in your statement. Amanda is very cunning and so was her live-in boyfriend. The both were definately involved with the killing of that girl. Get a clue. Amanda and her boyfriend held that girl's arms down while that other man slit her throat killing her because they all wanted sex. Now we have jurors finding Amanda not guilty,Casey Anthony not guilty and the old case O.J.Simpson not guilty. Every juror in every state should approve of the death penalty and every state should have it. Italy should have barred her from returning.

You say that as if it's a fact, but nobody knows what happened exactly in that room. There were so many LIES and fantastic stories, it sounded like absolute fantasy foolishness to me. That prosecutor was out of line, and the appeals court could see it. You tell ME to get a clue?? It was Italy's own court system that dismissed it, THAT's what should give all the diehard Amanda-haters a big fat clue. This is why I believe Italy's court system needs to CLEAR Amanda's name. They never had anything on her, but the prosecutor didn't want to admit it.

Jeez, can't people leave her alone now?

I'm surprised Italy hasn't banned her from entering the country. They must be drooling over the prospect of her return, handcuffs, prison cell and corrupt attorneys at the ready.

I just stated that in my comment that Italy should bar her from returning. I believe her and her boyfriend were involved in the killing and she is cunning and slick. She put on a good show to the jury like Casey Anthony's attorney's. Her boyfriend used her in Italy and now he is back with his girlfriend. The prosecutor filed an appeal on the case and I hope it is approved so they both will have to return.

D'oh... where is natural selection when we need it. How about a nice sail thru pirate waters to drop off Bibles or a quick trip to Mexico to see the drug cartels first hand??? Syria in the Spring??

Don't forget a trip to Afghanistan to hang out with the Al-Queda boys - the ditzy chick would think it was romantic.

Apparently she likes being locked up more than she does being free. Talk about a glutton for punishment. Go ahead, Amanda, go back to Italy, push your luck again and when you wind up in jail for life this time without a lifeline, you'll think about your need to be in the public's eye and realize it wasn't worth going back to Italy, a place where you are despised. But I guess you prefer being locked up for the rest of your life.... in an Italian jail.

If this girl/woman returns to Italy, let's color her very stupid! She already knows the court system there can be corrupt and if she goes back and they conjure up some additional charges stemming from her murder trial, she will have no one to blame but herself and help from the states will not be coming this time. Boy, talk about not knowing when to leave well enough alone. This girl takes the prize for arrogance and utter stupidity!

No kidding. Some people are just incapable of learning.

So true. Knox is arrogant and playing with fire. The Italian authorities will find (make up) any excuse to throw her in jail again.

I don't think she's the brightest bulb I pray Knox isn't THAT stupid.
