(CBS/AP) NEW HAVEN, Conn. - A judge has denied a request by convicted murderer Joshua Komisarjevsky for a new trial in the home invasion killings of a woman and her two daughters.

New Haven Superior Court Judge Jon Blue on Wednesday denied motions for a new trial and that Komisarjevsky's conviction be overturned, stating he received a fair trial in the first place.

Komisarjevsky joined co-defendant Steven Hayes on death row last month for the 2007 killings of Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her daughters in Cheshire, Conn.

The convicted killer argued the proceedings should have been moved because of the case's notoriety in New Haven and the "emotional effect of a clearly visible Petit posse" at the trial advocating capital punishment.

However, Blue said the victims' family behaved in a dignified manner and the jury was attentive and fair in the trial.

I wonder if this piece of garbage actually expected a new trial or just wants to waste as much tax payer time and money as he can. Off him and be done with it.

If there was no evidence of a mistrial why keep beating a dead horse.
