Missing Kan. student Aisha Khan found safe, cops say she was never abducted

(CBS/AP) OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The college student who disappeared Friday after reportedly being harassed by a drunk man, has been found safe. Police say she was never abducted.

The search for Aisha Khan, 19, who was last seen on the University of Kansas Edwards campus Friday, involved several law enforcement agencies. On Tuesday, her parents offered a $10,000 reward for information about her whereabouts.

But now officials believe Khan - with whom they reportedly spoke on Wednesday - was never the victim of a kidnapping. Where she was for five days remains a mystery, however, as police are thus far not releasing details.

Khan left a frightened voicemail for her sister Friday, saying she'd gotten into an altercation with a man on the campus where she'd been studying when he tried to kiss her. When Khan's sister arrived to pick her up, she found her sister's bookbag and cell phone abandoned.

Family friend Aamer Trambu told the Associated Press he couldn't answer questions about how Khan was found, but said "the fact is, she's alive she's well. We believe our prayers have been answered."

Any woman who dares to should be put in the ER. God help any woman who would slap me. She would pay dearly for her actions.
I think this head case made up the entire story to get away with some guy.

by jsf14 December 22, 2011 5:16 PM EST: After Audrey Seiler faked her abduction in 2004, she was charged and fined (http://www.channel3000.com/news/3477907/detail.html )and sentenced to pay restitution. She claimed she did not remember what had happened. It was said she suffered from depression. If she served her probation and complied with all the terms, her record has been expunged by now. Her case was not unique and had nothing to do with her religion which was some form of Christian.; Reply to this comment


by AmePrinz December 22, 2011 4:13 PM EST: She's just an American Muslim chick--going through a stressful time (College Finals in her first year, just got married, got harassed by a drunk guy), maybe she had a nervous breakdown and needed to get away.Great to see so many people cared about her. I'm SO glad she is safe and not harmed. Thank God.She prob has No idea she got so famous--saw the news in her hotel room and realized everyone thought she was abducted.I think they need to improve campus security--she had gone missing in broad daylight.Hope she, her husband (poor guy getting hated for no reason), and family are ok.This chick is living in American and is an American-Muslim. So...if someone wants to say Merry Christmas even to a Muslim, it wouldn't make sense to do so? Why should saying Merry Christmas be based on the beliefs of others? Does THAT really make sense? Whether you're Chinese, Hindu, Japanese, Muslim, African, or Russian, Christmas will still be an official holiday for a significant portion of the world's population. Should I ask them (people who do not celebrate Christmas) to watch what they say for their holidays just so they don't offend me? Honestly, I think it would be absurd. Just because someone is from a different culture does not mean saying Merry Christmas would be disrespectful. I'm not a Christian, but what I do know is on the 25th of December, Christians call this day, CHRISTMAS. So Merry Christmas to all and to all a Happy New Year!

Wow. To think of all of the time that was wasted by law enforcement. I think that her parents should be reimbursing them with that reward money. Not only that, but she needs to be charged with something. Too many people actually are abducted, only to never be found, or to be found too late for someone to think it's ok to just screw with people.

Maybe she went to a pig roast, or just wanted to go swimming in something other than a sweatsuit. Suspicious that she left her phone and keys in the park, too.
