Ill. math teacher Paul LaDuke charged with masturbating in class

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (CBS) - A Christian school teacher was fired and charged with a felony for allegedly masturbating behind a podium during class.

Police said that math teacher and ordained minister Paul LaDuke, 75, may have been engaging in similar activity for more than a decade, reports CBS station WBBM.

On Friday, a student at Schaumburg Christian School, where LaDuke has taught for 26 years, told another teacher that she thought LaDuke was masturbating while sitting at his podium during class. The teacher reportedly notified the administration, which launched an investigation. LaDuke was fired Friday, and school officials called police on Monday.

Detectives interviewed several students and arrested LaDuke Monday. He is charged with sexual exploitation of a child.

In court on Wednesday, a prosecutor told the judge that the state has a handwritten note from LaDuke in which he admits that he has fantasized about female students while masturbating in class for the past 10 years.

Bond for LaDuke was set at $40,000 at the Rolling Meadows Courthouse Wednesday morning.

Sgt. John Nebel told WBBM that there is no evidence that LaDuke inappropriately touched any students or harmed them physically.

La Duke is being held on $40,000 bond and, if he makes bond, he will not be allowed on school grounds.

A defense attorney told WBBM that LaDuke may have dementia.

It seems that the offense is people knowing he masturbated - no actual display. Which is sort of silly given that most children over 10 know about masturbation and over 12 probably have engaged in it themselves. In fact it used to be rather common for girls just entering puberty to blatantly masturbate on the corners of teachers desks while talking to them.

Make note: presumption of youthful innocence makes the act innocent and the corruption of age makes the act corrupt. Sounds like pure age discrimination in the legal system.

Only a small step from conviction because some child is convinced you masturbate at home.

And they already have the precedents from cases where old ladies used low-light binoculars and climb out on their roof to spy on a neighbor who had no curtains on his second story bathroom. The fact that she had to go to extreme lengths to invade his privacy was no bar to his felony sex crime conviction. I wonder if you can be convicted for being seen via infra-red binoculars through your walls?; Reply to this comment

for the same type of thing. He was doing this stuff under his
robes during actual trial proceedings (allegedly) with one of
those vacumn pump devices for e.d. A court reporter or bailiff
had been hearing these noises from the device, leading to his
arrest. This is sad when you consider that people with these

Yet another example of the true nature of the christian right in this country. This guy is probably an active tea b@gger, and totally outraged about the moral decline being caused by progressives in this country.
Perhaps, as a general rule, if you see a guy with a bible hide your daughters (and sons).

For you to suggest that it is exposes your own immaturity and ignorance. We have an entire organization dedicated to molesting young boys (Namla) that has been defended by liberal progressives for decades. Liberal policies have allowed sexual predators to get off with light sentences only to repeatedly offend. There have been numerous Democratic pedophiles (Barney Frank is just one who comes to mind) and numerous Democrats and high ranking liberals involved in underage sex scandals. The top dog Democrat (Bill Clinton) was accused of sexual harrassment of a young intern and lied under oath to save his wretched skin. While there is no denying there is much perversion at play in the church, there is far more in the progressive liberal culture.
