Conrad Murray getting handcuffed after guilty verdict

(CBS/KCAL) LOS ANGELES - Hours after being found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson, Dr. Conrad Murray was placed on suicide watch as he sat in his jail cell Monday night, CBS station KCAL reports.

A jury of seven men and five women deliberated for less than two days before convicting the celebrity doctor in Jackson's 2009 death.

Jurors had 300 pieces of evidence to consider after listening to 49 witnesses and complex medical testimony during the six-week trial.

Prosecutors argued that Murray acted in a criminally negligent manner after giving Jackson a powerful dose of the anesthetic propofol as a sleep aid. The defense, however, maintained that Jackson took a deadly dose of propofol when Murray left his bedroom hours before the singer's death.

According to KCAL, Murray faces up to four years in prison when he's sentenced on Nov. 29, but Judge Michael Pastor ordered him to be remanded immediately.

Pastor, who said Murray "poses a demonstrable risk to the safety of the public," ordered him to be held at the Los Angeles County Jail without bond.

Murray will also lose his medical license as the result of his conviction.

by Rick817 November 8, 2011 5:36 PM EST: Michael Jackson was a predator whose biggest talent was in singling out the weakest prey to succumb to the lure of his money, whether it be low income parents willing to allow him access to their underage sons or doctors with financial problems willing to bend the rules for him. If it had not been Dr. Murray, he would have found someone else after being turned down by any number of responsible physicians. Yes, Dr. Murray's actions were irresponsible and I don't feel the jury's verdict is an unjust one. But Michael Jackson's sense of entitlement and his use of his money to get him whatever he wanted (spoiled child), make him just as culpable. He may have been a huge talent, but he was also an immature, weak mess of a 50 year old man crying that he couldn't sleep without his "milk". What he really needed was a good dose of growing up.; Reply to this comment

I'm really inclined to say that BOTH Dr Conrad AND Michael J are at fault. Obviously MJ is/was a horrendous druggie and Conrad helped him along.

I do fault Conrad however for being as stupid as he could be by not having any type of recucitaing equipt by MJ's bedside or in his bedrm. At least Conrad could have made the scene look like he cared about MJ.

No one seems to want to talk about MJ's drug habit - not the dr nor his family. No one takes that many drugs of that caliber and the family not know! Come on.....

Exactly. So maybe he wasn't really the "druggie" that some people thought he was. EVERYONE, the people that knew him, worked with him, family, have all said that they had never seen him in a drugged state. So who is it that said he was a druggie??

The rogue treatment with Propofol, "the magic bullet" was seemingly necessary; Michael wouldn't have been able to do 1 show without sleep how could he have managed 50? The glaring reality is, Dr. Murray or not, Michael was doomed! He didn't have the emotional intelligence to put everything aside and take time to heal, emotionally, physically and mentally. The quick answer that will solve Michael's dilemma in his mind's eyes was propofol and Co.
Although this doctor could not have prevented this boat to sink he has precipitated it by digging a bigger hole in the ship's hull. Dr. Murray chose to be part of Michael Jackson's vagaries for a big chunk of change under the guise of his medical license. The universe works in mysterious ways, isn't it? Everything that could go wrong, went wrong, this is Murphy's law in action. Dr. Conrad Murray is a truly disastrous doctor. This is gross negligence, greed, and it hits the level of criminality. Both men are self-made, and both men are guilty, one is dead, the other will probably be confined to a jail cell where he will be spinning on his butt trying to understand what went wrong. There is no room for softness, I can't wait for the verdict!

Dr. Murray is not the only greedy man in the MJ saga. This is the crooked timber of humanity. In the crux of this drama I would like to jump from that into another shameful exploitation of MJ. A line of perfumes dedicated to Michael is about to be launched by Michael's own father and a professional scam-artist who is much spookier than Dr. Murray, Julian Franck Rouas. This story will make your eyes curl up in the back of your head when you'll read about the psychologically malevolent Julian Rouas and the Jackson Tribute Fragrances rogue operation. -Michael Jackson was thrice accused of child molestation (Chandler, Francia, Arvizo)

-Michael Jackson settled his 1st case for $25 million after a 13-yr-old boy accurately drew a detailed description of his genitals...including marks that can only be seen during an erection.

-Michael Jackson had an alarm system for his bedroom that would go off when someone was approaching.

-Michael Jackson had a 2nd hidden bedroom within his main bedroom.

-Three different types of s e m e n were found on Michael Jackson's mattress--one belonged to him, and the two others belonged to different males. A fourth sample of s e m e n was found in Michael's bedsheets, and a fifth on a size small pair of underwear stored in a bag with Michael's own soiled underwear. No female DNA was detected.

-During the raid, police discovered that Michael Jackson had multiple books of nude children including "Boys Will be Boys", which is an extremely explicit book of young boys in erotic poses (this was locked in a filing cabinet in his room)

-Michael Jackson owned a nude photo of his pubescent friend Jonathan Spence...a boy he shared his bed with for years.

Why is it, these days, that after a celebrity, or V.I.P., or licensed professional gets convicted of a crime, it's instantly
announced they are on "suicide watch"?!
Evidently, this is a standard tactic, and it's supposed to somehow get the public to feel sorry for them!
Well, you know what? IT'S NOT WORKING!!!

He probably had a meltdown and they had reason to believe that it was possible he may try to kill himself. And I would imagine a lot of people would have a meltdown. A lot of people would have a hard time dealing with the fact that they are going to be someone's b*tch.
