Single Fla. mom missing after custody hearing, possibly in danger, say police

(CBS/WKMG) OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla.  - A 26-year-old Orlando woman who went missing after a custody hearing could be in danger, authorities said Friday.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Nicole Fields disappeared Thursday after attending a 9 a.m. hearing in the Osceola County Courthouse where she was trying to get her estranged boyfriend to pay back child support, according to the sheriff's office. Fields' mother reported her daughter missing.

The boyfriend, identified as 28-year-old Steven Louis, was driving Fields' car Friday afternoon when police tried to pull him over. Deputies said he tried driving away and crashed, reported CBS affiliate WKMG.

He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and will be taken in for questioning.

Court records show that Louis is a convicted drug dealer who was charged with aggravated domestic battery in 2008, although the charges were dropped, the Sentinel reports. According to her mother, Fields was the victim in that case and had been abused by Louis on other occasions.

Nicole Fields is described as a white female, approximately 5-feet-4 inches tall, 150 lbs., with waist-length blond hair and blue eyes.

The daughter is with her grandma!!!! This is what makes me not proud to be half black for everyone who has their opinion. I don't date black guys but that doesn't mean a white man couldn't do it to me too. GET EDUCATED AMERICA YOU SOUND SO STUPID AND MAYBE FINISHING YOUR OWN EDUCATION MAY BE WORTH WHILE FROM THE SOUNDS OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My God, the hatred that spews from bloggers. This young woman had a black boyfriend, and for that she gets comments that she ought to be dead, who cares where the kids is, she brought it on herself. Excuse me, but what about the good white girls that have good white boyfriends that wind up being killed over custody and child support? How exactly are they different. What ignorance I see. No wonder the values in this country are so transparent.

I apologize for all the stupidity on this blog. What horrible judgement was passed. Seems obvious to those of sound mind that she was just trying to do the right thing and to make the so called father responsible for his part. I'm sorry for your friend's loss. I truly hope she comes home safely.

I love how all of you have no f-ing clue as to what you are talking about. This girl was a great mom and split because she found out about the drugs and he started abusing her. It doesn't matter what f ing color u are it didnt make her trash. Their daughter now has no mom or dad and she was a great mom. I've known her 11 years and she was trying to get support for what this as*hole should have been doing as her father. Nicole isn't at fault here to all of you that have no clue about the story. She went to court for her kid not anything else. I've never seen America so ignorant in my life with the fu**ed up comments i see being posted. Just be glad it isn't your mom or sister or friend because you would see it differently. She tried to get protective orders and the stupid court wouldn't grant them and now she is missing just like Casey anthony killing her daughter and walking free. Our justice system is a total disaster and needs fixed. He is behind bars and he will face the consequences guaranteed!!!!! Before you talk sh*t about what you don't know do a little research on her and find out so you do know. NICOLE WE LOVE YOU AND HOPE FOR A RETURN HOME EVEN IF ITS NOT HOW WE WANT YOU, WE WANT YOU BACK HOME!!!!!!!

Yes, this woman involved herself with the wrong guy and then pursued the low life for child support to help care for their child. However, she didn't deserve to be murdered...or whatever else horrible thing he probably did to her.

Why won't women stop making babies with criminals? If they had 50 years ago, imagine how few criminals we'd have.
Don't they get they're just making more criminals?
I guess this woman learned the hard way, and her children will grow up without parents. And, statistically, they will be criminals.
Thanks, lady, for the legacy you left behind. Your children will appreciate it when they are sitting behind bars.

Because not every adult female has a good head on her shoulders, or strong morals and family values. I am afraid that is just life. I always used to wonder why any woman would want to be with a man that treats her like garbage but some are drawn to that. Very sad.

Well aren't you so high and mighty!!! This is a story about a probable murder, and all you did was make it sound like the VICTIM is to blame for it. You don't know how the kid's gonna turn out, and you have no right to assume that they're going to be a criminal. I hope you get to go through something like this yourself at some point.

I have absolutely NO SYMPATHY for her. This guy is a thug and society would be much better off if he was dead. But this woman wanted to be rebellious, go against the advice of anyone who cared or even didn't really care about her I am sure.... including her mother. She was going to show the world that morals and values "preached" to her were a joke and a waste of time. She wanted the drama. I am sure she called a great many white people "racists". And I wish a person like her all the happiness in the world if that is what they so choose. I even believe street drugs should be legalized. It would stop 80% of "crime" in this country. Crime included the thugs dealers who do harm to others and the "(not)crime", people choosing how and what to do with their own minds and bodies by using drugs which SHOULD be a basic human right. SO I wouldn't feel any negativity toward her except for one reason...... She brought an innocent child into this world with HIM as the father.
