Mario Andrette McNeill: Things May Get Much Worse for Man Charged With Kidnapping Shaniya Davis

NEW YORK (CBS/AP) As police begin to unravel the horrible fate of 5-year-old Shaniya Davis, who police believe was sold into sexual slavery by her own mother and later murdered, the fate of another person, Mario Andrette McNeill, may grow much darker.

McNeill, 29, was seen last Tuesday on hotel surveillance footage carrying Shaniya Davis through a hallway and also to an elevator.

A hotel worker tipped off police, but McNeill and the girl were gone by the time they arrived at the Comfort Suites hotel in Sanford, N.C., 30 miles from Shanyia Davis' Fayetteville home and 42 miles south west of Raleigh.

McNeill turned himself into Fayetteville police Friday Nov. 13, said his attorney Allen Rogers. Police charged him with kidnapping and claim McNeill admitted the crime. Rogers says he will plead not guilty.

But as Shaniya Davis has now been found dead, kidnapping charges could be the least of McNeill's troubles. Fayetteville police have not yet said if they will hit McNeill with a murder charge as well.

Searchers found Shaniya Davis' body Monday off a highway southeast of Sanford, in central North Carolina, Fayetteville Police spokeswoman Theresa Chance told The Associated Press. Police did not say how she died.

Police have also charged Shaniya's mother, Antoinette Davis, 25, with human trafficking and felony child abuse, saying she offered Shaniya Davis for prostitution.

It's not clear how, or if, McNeill and Antoinette Davis are related.

A first court appearance for Antoinette Davis was scheduled Monday afternoon, and police said she did not yet have an attorney.

Antoinette Davis reported Shaniya Davis missing on Tuesday, Nov. 11. The investigation first led authorities to arrest a man named Clarence Coe, but charges against him were dropped a day later when investigators tracked down McNeill after receiving a tip from a hotel employee.

Additional information led investigators to a search site near Sanford on Sunday. They continued searching Monday, scouring miles of landscape, roads, ravines and fields on four-wheelers and with helicopters.

After Shaniya Davis' body was found, a solemn group of searchers met quietly at a nearby fire station to ensure that all volunteers were accounted for.

A cluster of emergency vehicles and law enforcement personnel gathered where Shaniya Davis' body was found, about a quarter mile from N.C. Highway 87.

Authorities blocked access to the road, a rural area popular with hunters that is less than a mile from a large lakeside community.

It's only right, and as a parent myself I would want to punish this sick b i t c h as I see fit if it was my child. I wouldn't have my justice allowing the state to set the punishment that they see fit. by thebinme November 27, 2009 12:05 PM EST: I don?t think there is any punishment that I can think of that would be remotely close to the horrific torture this child had to endure. I can think of things very painful and slow so they suffer, and that still wouldn't be enough! I feel as though we spend more time rehabilitating junkies/child molesters etc... With rehabs and counseling etc..And not enough time protecting our children. Why do they get so many chances when it is our children that pay the price in the end? How many more children have to suffer before we have a 0 tolerance for these scumbags?! My brother was sexually molested by a repeat offender. This man had a history of child endangerment and my brother was placed in his home by the courts this man Ed was to be his foster parent. This was AGAINST my parents wishes, My bro was getting into trouble b/c this man would offer the kids alcohol and pot and get them to trust him and then before ya know it he would have them so drunk and high he would have his way. My mother told the judge she didn't want my brother there b/c of the things she has heard from other children and that his home always seemed to be haven for children, I mean why do so many kids want to hang out with a grown man?!?! (Why do junkies associate with pedophiles that will give her drugs in exchange for her daughter?s body and life!) They said they did a background check.. My ARSH they did. This brings me back to 0 tolerance for the animals that continue to harm our children, and make what should be a childhood full of love and play and memories to cherish into why? What did I do wrong? These children who are victims never completely overcome this violation, it is something they carry with them for the rest of their lives! And let?s not forget Shaniya didn't make it, she was raped and killed by a man with a past. The sorry excuse women that gave birth to her should have her cell plastered in the pictures of her daughter being carried in the pedophiles arms as if it were his bride along with crime scene photos. The only face she should she is that of her Childs. Don't usually believe in eye for an eye BUT when it comes to helpless, defenseless innocent children. I say torture them slowly everyday, I have no remorse for her or him. I am glad that she will be forced to get clean and sober in jail. She shouldn't have an escape! And for the Aunt who says she loves this child like a daughter, this child was her life. BULL $HIT! If that was the case didn't ya miss her after all that time? Didn't ya want to call and check on her? Especially considering the mother was POS, and didn't live in the best neighborhood. There were too many signs that were missed, and I am sure now that Shaniya was murdered everyone involved closely with these people are said Oh maybe that?s what this meant, or oh that was where this mark came from? And so on! To the father of Shaniya, don't go getting all Oh lord this and lord that like you poor you. YOU MISSED THE SIGNS!! OR YOU SAW SOME OF THEM AND YOU DIDN'T GIVE A F! You were too worried about doing your thing for you, while you daughter was being passed around and taken advantage of by 1 of the people that is supposed to protect her. It is a child?s extinct at such a young age to trust their mother! Some people should not be allowed to have children and this she animal is a prime example. and to agree with what valopinion said a few above. Would such a loving God that made the universe and us and flowers and birds and laughter and song and a babies smile also create such horrible people that do such horrendous & unimaginable things to children? This child endured HELL on earth for a whole month. It seems there was a "free for all" with these sick bastards. The final act was rape & suffocation. She was burned with cigarettes and suffered a whole bunch of stuff in the hands of Antoinette, Clarence Coe and Mario McNeill. Three MONSTERS hell-bent on destroying this helpless 5 year old child. I WISH jail-justice on them. JUSTICE for Shaniya.

Please turn off the video surveillance in the jail and let him in with the other prisoners, I will bet he won't last an hour. He took a precious life, a beautiful little girl. America, wake up and save your children. If someone saw the way this baby was living, what did you do about it. Somebody really slipped up. All of Americans and Canadians feel the pain of this case. President Obama, do something about this. These predators of children who are waiting to be executed on death row, start lining them up. The smirk on this bastards face, I can't stand it. A double death penalty for the mother and the molester. His record that he had, what in the hell is the law doing down there. She had her whole beautiful life in front of her. Why? That is what I want to know. They both should be shot on the spot no trail nothing why should we the tax payers have to pay for what they did. THey make me sick I can't help but to cry for the little angel she was and now she is a real angel. May god take good care of her better then her damned mother. I will be praying you all. Something this horrific will make us all want to lash out. However, God will be the judge in this case and all cases. The tears won't stop flowing...My heart is broken..I have a daughter who is 5 and she resembles this little girl and it just gave me chills to see the picture of him holding her in that hotel..She was so precious so beautiful and I just cannot understand this and why it had to happen to her or any child. It makes me cry to think of what was going thru her little head when things were happening to her. I am sad and so angry at the same time. America needs to start implementing harsh discipline it just makes no sense that this is happening every week to our children. If a man commits rape or child molestation then he should be castrated and spend his life behind bars with NO tv, NO ping-pong tables, NO weight room, NO fun time for good behavior TO HELL WITH THAT CRAP why do we allow murderers and rapist to have a good time in prison..Put them in a 8x10 cell and let them sit there for the rest of their miserable life they don't deserve to have fun!
1. Rape/child molest - castrate w/ life in prison
2. Murder - you die immediatley following your conviction of murder no sitting in jail for 10 yrs having fun at tax payers expense...insane!
3. You Steal - You loose a hand, you steal againg you loose both hands.....
I could go on....If America put this stuff into affect I bet you would see a drastic drop in the people who take a chance in committing crimes!
My Heart and prayers go out to this little girls father, I just cannot imagine not having my baby by my side anymore. Our children are a gift and its unthinkable that anyone would want to harm such an innocent beautiful gift from God.

I can't stop crying, everytime I think about it, I keep coming to the articles, it seems so surreal, watching that devil carrying that little angel, it breaks my heart as well.... and the thought that she is not the only one, I can not conceive, something has to be done. how many times do I read an article where a child has been raped/killed and when the capture the pervert, ends up he had a previous record and was out on parole... another one who 'slipped through the cracks'. I am not an 'eye for eye' type of person, but this is the exception. once again, as I read southergurl1971's post, it's as if i wrote it... my heart and prayers go out to the family.

That guy McNeill was on probation, put on probation by a judge, for shooting 4 different people...he wasn't sent to prison....PROBATION!! So, where the hell was his probation officer?? And as for this childs' mother....she is a sorry ass excuse for a human. Where was child protective services?? I place no blame on the father directly but why and how could he have sent this beautiful angel to this crazy looking woman even for an hour without another person their to completely supervise the visit?? The legal system is not working and that is very obvious....especially when a child has to die in order for someone to actually notice that demons are among us....demons like McNeill and Davis (the mother)....I hope that the killer(s) do not get to sit in prison with all the little perks of being an inmate for too long!! There should be an island for criminals like this...put them all out there...make a food drop once a month by plane. If they die there so be it, if they kill each other, so be it, if one takes over and the others starve....so be it. Just show the world that these unspeakable crimes will not be tolerated in our society anymore and believe me...THE CRIMES WILL CEASE TO EXIST!!
