Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler on Wednesday asked the public's assistance in identifying people who may have exhibited certain changes or unexplained behaviors.
He listed some of the behaviors as: Leaving the area unexpectedly, missing work or routine engagements, having unexplained injuries and having an unnatural interest in the status of the investigation.
Thompson, 7, first went missing Oct. 19 from Orange Park, Fla., a Jacksonville surburb. Her body was found two days later in a Georgia landfill. The police strategy of tracking the routes of local garbage trucks paid off early in the investigation and helped to find Thompson's body shortly after her kidnapping. But so far using that strategy in reverse has not led to her killer.
Somer Thompson was buried Tuesday as funeral organizers filled the sky with purple balloons, Thompson's favorite color.
Authorities investigated about 1,700 leads, but have not named any suspects or people of interest.
