Morgan Harrington – New Photos, Timeline May Help Find Missing Virginia Tech Student

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS/AP) As Morgan Harrington's family releases new photographs of the missing Virginia Tech student, police are hoping a timeline of when and where the 20-year-old was last seen will help jog the memory of anyone who can provide clues to her whereabouts.

Virginia State Police Lt. Joe Rader said Wednesday authorities believe Harrington was last seen at 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 17 on a bridge in Charlottesville, Va., about 75 miles north west of Richmond.

She had gone to the University of Virginia for a Metallica concert, but left the arena and was denied re-entry under arena policy.

Rader says witnesses saw someone matching Harrington's description around the outside of the arena from about 8:30 until 9 p.m.

She then was seen walking across two parking areas, one of which is near the bridge.

Harrington's dissapearance has shaken the University of Virginia campus. University police say they're increasing patrols on foot and in vehicles in anticipation of Halloween festivities and because there is a home football game Saturday.

They urged students to take precautions by being aware of their surroundings and reporting any suspicious activity.

Police hope a $150,000 reward — including $50,000 chipped in by Metallica — will help generate new leads.
