Philadelphia Police are searching for the person responsible for duct taping a cat from its head to its paws and dumping the feline in a yard.

Officers from the Pennsylvania SPCA's Humane Law Enforcement team rescued the cat Tuesday from a yard in the 2200 block of Edgley Street.

Medical staff at the Pennsylvania SPCA were able to successfully remove the duct tape and the cat, nicknamed by staff as "Sticky," is reportedly doing well.

According to investigators, the female cat was duct taped from head to toe and was left abandoned in the yard. The animal was so tightly wrapped in duct tape that she could not walk.

The Pennsylvania SPCA is offering a $1000 reward to anyone who provides information leading to a conviction of the person or persons responsible.

"I've been doing this for a lot of years and I have to say that this is the worst case," George Bengal of the PSPCA told CBS affiliate KYW Philadelphia. "I've seen animal's feet duct-taped and their mouths duct-taped, but never a body suit like this."

Sticky is not yet up for adoption; however, applications are being accepted. Applications are available online on the PSPCA Web site. If you are interested in filling out an application in person, visit the shelter at 350 E. Erie Avenue. The shelter is open Monday through Friday from 1 to 8 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Make sure you note on the application you would like to adopt Sticky.

Anyone with information should call the Pennsylvania SPCA's Cruelty Hotline at 866-601-7722.

I really hope they find the person who did this. This is the start of a very sick individual who may go on to do other cruel things possible not to just animals but to people as well.
Please catch this person and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. I hope this person knows that the world will not tolerate this sort of behavior, and pay back is coming .... God is watching you.

My family contributes to the rescue of ill treated animals and we will continue to do so just because of this very reason. Many thanks to the SPCA for the great job you do and continue to do.
Catch this nut!

Too bad they can't recover fingerprints from the duct tape because we're looking at a possible future serial killer. They always start off with this type of behavior. If they find this person I'll contribute to the reward and then I will work very hard for this person to punished to the full extent of the law...then I'll sit back and hope for a lifetime of karma pay back. Thanks to the SPCA and whoever found this poor animal and saved it's life. It will make my day if this sicko is caught.

This is one of those instances where the punishment won't fit the crime. Too bad. A couple of rolls of duct tape might teach this sicko a lesson.

Thank God, little Sticky was found in time! She could have easily died. I know that she will be given a loving home.

Cruelty to animals is so vicious and disgusting. It is also a precursor to violence against humans, including serial murder. (Most serial killers first abused animals.)

If they find the person who did this and prosecute him/her vigorously then they will ultimately also save human lives.

This has to be one of the most cruel things I have seen done to a helpless little animal. Who ever thinks this kind of thing is funny is really sick! If no one had found her she would have died a very slow and painful death.

Why do some people do this? Is there something "fun" here that I'm just missing? Why not duct tape a buddy...or yourself? If you hate your cat that much, sell/give it to someone, or the ASPCA. Better yet, don't get one in the first place. And if you own a cat or dog, please have it spayed or neutered. Not to Bob Barker y'all too much, but chances are this was an unwanted cat that could have been avoided if the parents were fixed.

That is a really heart-breaking story that happend to Sticky.
My mom has been looking to adopt a cat , when i showed her this video she literarly broke in tears. She said that she would love to have Sticky staying with us in our apartment in Russia. It might sound a little bit crazy but She wonders whether or not it would be possible to make this adoption happened?
