Dr. Wayne Carver says prosecutors asked that the results be withheld "in order to facilitate the investigation" into the killing of 24-year-old Le.
It wasn't clear when the results would be released. Carver's office had announced Monday that the death was a homicide but hasn't reported the manner of Le's death.
She vanished Sept. 8 from a Yale University research building, and her body was found five days later in a wall in the basement.
New Haven police say they've interviewed about 150 people in the case but did not expect to make an arrest Tuesday.
