"Blameless" Author Blamed for Shooting Dad

(LisaReardon.com)
NEW YORK (CBS) If police are right, Lisa Ann Reardon could very well be a character in one of her own novels.
The writer of "The Mercy Killers" allegedly showed little after shooting her father in the leg and buttocks with a .20-guage shotgun on Friday, Aug. 21, officials say.
The 47-year-old Michigan author then fled in her car, according to Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office. She was later arrested. Her father survived the shooting.
Reardon is the author of "Blameless," "Billy Dead," and "The Mercy Killers." Her books have focused on deep seated family tensions, incest and murder. She has also written several plays and has taught creative writing courses for teens, according to her Web site.
Reardon was charged with assault with intent to murder, using a firearm to commit a felony and a motor vehicle violation, according to the Detroit Free Press.
She is being held without bond.
