NEW YORK (CBS/AP) Actress Ashley Greene was recently honored as a "fresh face" at the Teen Choice Awards, but it's not her face that she's trying to cover up.

A lawyer for Greene, who starred in the vampire box-office hit movie, "Twilight," confirms that nude photos of his client have surfaced on the Internet, and he's threatening to sue anyone who publishes them.

"The photos in question, which appear to be of our client, are illegal and are being unlawfully displayed," according to a statement by the lawyer for the 22-year old actress. "Our client intends to take legal action."

Famed celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton supposedly posted Greene's nude photos on his blog, according to celebrifi.com. A personal statement was issued to the blogger by Greene's attorney and was posted on Perez Hilton's Web site.

"Ms. Greene is the owner of the copyrights in these photos," reads the posted statement. "And as copyright owner, Ms. Greene owns the exclusive rights, among others, to reproduce, distribute, and to display the photos."

It's believed the pictures of Greene were taken when she was 19-years-old.

The film "Twilight" struck a vein at the Teen Choice Awards. The adolescent vampire drama dominated Sunday's ceremony with 11 wins, including choice movie drama, romance, liplock, rumble and soundtrack.

This, the Vanessa Hudgens pictures, and the Carrie Prejean pictures show just how hypocritical America is on the issue of "adult behavior". We like to claim that we are progressive and open-minded. We are also the world's largest consumer of adult images and videos. And yet, for some reason, a woman who has a nude picture floating around out there is labeled a "*****" or a "****". Get off your soapbox, America, and let what people do in the privacy of their own bedrooms remain private! Judge not, lest ye be judged!

Spare me the indignation.

This wasn't a mistake. These were leaked by her publicist to give her career a boost and ensure it's not just teens that recognize her. I never heard of ESPN reporter Erin Andrews until the news stories reporting her "outrage" over nude photos that mysteriously appeared on the web. Now she's practically a household name.
