COLUMBIA, Ill. (CBS/ AP) A southern Illinois judge says the home where the bodies of Sheri Coleman and her sons, 11-year-old Garett and 9-year-old Gavin, were found dead is now authorized for sale.
But proceeds won't go to Sheri Coleman's husband, Chris Coleman, who's accused in the killings.
Thirty one-year-old Sheri Coleman and her two children, were found strangled to death in their Columbia home on May 5, 2009. Sheri Coleman's husband, Chris, is charged with three counts of first degree murder.
Belleville attorney Jack Carey says attorneys for Chris Coleman and Sheri Coleman's family reached an agreement protecting the couple's assets last week.
The order filed Monday in Monroe County says proceeds of the sale will be deposited in a trust account of Sheri Coleman's family attorney.
Chris Coleman told his Florida girlfriend that he would divorce his wife and marry her in 2010, according to court documents. Chris Coleman maintains his innocence.
