LAPD Cop Reported Gun Stolen Weeks After Murder

LOS ANGELES (AP) A police detective accused of killing her ex-boyfriend's wife more than two decades ago reported her personal handgun stolen just weeks after the slaying, according to a published report.
Stephanie Lazarus, 49, was arrested last week for the killing of Sherri Rasmussen on Feb. 24, 1986, when Lazarus had been with the Los Angeles Police Department force for two years.
Sometime in mid-March that year, Lazarus contacted the Santa Monica Police Department to report a theft from her car, which was parked near the pier, the More At The Los Angeles Times
