Casey Anthony reports for probation

(CBS/WKMG) ORLANDO, Fla. - Casey Anthony, who has been laying low since a jury acquitted her of murdering her daughter Caylee, has reported to the Florida Department of Corrections to serve one year of probation on an unrelated check fraud conviction.

According to CBS affiliate WKMG, Judge Belvin Perry ordered Anthony to report by noon on Friday after an appeal filed by her defense team was denied earlier this week.

In Jan. 2010, Anthony was convicted of check fraud for stealing checks from then-best friend Amy Huizenga during the month in 2008 that Anthony's daughter was missing before being reported. Her defense said Anthony served probation while at the Orange County Jail while awaiting trial on charges that she murdered Caylee.

Anthony was found not guilty of all felony charges in Caylee's death last month and subsequently released from the Orange County Jail.

The original judge in the case, Stan Strickland, revised his order to clarify that Anthony was intended to serve probation if she was ever released from jail. He recused himself from the matter and Perry took over.

Anthony's whereabouts have been a mystery since her release from the Orange County Jail on July 17. On Monday, her attorney Jose Baez said Anthony had returned to Florida in case it was necessary for her to report for probation.

WKMG reports that The Department of Corrections will hold a news conference to discuss Anthony's probation at 11 a.m. Thursday in Tallahassee. Anthony was not required to report for probation in Orange County and it is unclear where she decided to report.

1.How does prostitutional behavior prove somebody is guilty?

2.Chloroform in her car?That could be ANY form of waste in the world....

3.Some other nonsense lie she told that the prosecution thinks makes her a child killer...

Look at this evidence.Do you people think this evidence makes this person guilty of any crime other than lying to police?Behavior is not evidence of someones guilt,it just paints a bad picture.; Reply to this comment

Someday the real killer will be tried and convicted through DNA. Once that happens all the haters will finally focus on another innocent person.

Leave her alone? I hope you were being sarcastic.

Every time I think of her daughter, I envision her in a car trunk, while her mother is partying. Maybe it wasn't proven without a doubt...but this woman is the only one responsible for Caylee's death.

PLEASE tell me Orange County will not be paying for Ms. Anthony's so-called "probation"... which has been determined to be ON-LINE COURSES!!! Are we now paying for her future career? What jerko decided on this punishment (reward)? QUOTE: "Due to security concerns, Anthony has been granted a waiver stating she will not have to obtain employment. Instead, she must attend school, which "will be online," according to Baez".

by DenverBroncofan August 25, 2011 10:50 AM EDT: Andie...do some homework...the threats were proven, detectives found the calls made to her family, the attorney's wife etc were placed from people who purchased pre-paid cell phones which could not be traced. There have been many threats places online and via mail. The people making these threats are sicker than what some believe Casey to be.
