Casey Anthony to appeal verdict on lying charges

(CBS/WKMG/AP) ORLANDO, Fla. - Casey Anthony has filed notice that she will appeal her misdemeanor convictions of lying to law enforcement.

Anthony filed the notice Friday in Florida's 5th District Court of Appeal in Daytona Beach, reports CBS affiliate WKMG.

The Florida mother was acquitted last week of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter in Caylee's death.

She was found guilty on four counts of providing false information to law enforcement, and was sentenced to a total of four years in jail on the four counts, as well as a fine of $4,000, plus court costs.

At the sentencing hearing, Judge Belvin Perry rejected a defense argument that the four counts be merged into one count, as they all "arose from a single criminal episode." Perry called them "four separate and distinct lies" that each caused law enforcement to expend resources in the search for Caylee.

However, due to credit for time served and good behavior, Anthony is scheduled to be released this Sunday, July 17.

O.J. finally got his and someday, she will get what she deserves for murdering that precious, beautiful little Caylee. I hope the jury of 12 looks at themselves in the mirror each and every morning and realizes that THEY let a murderer walk free among us. I keep hearing that the jurors are saying, by the law, they had no choice. BS! If they had no choice but to set her free, there would NOT have been a trial. They wanted to go home! by wlhoppers July 15, 2011 6:20 PM EDT: I don't think I've ever felt so sick and disgusted over the outcome of a trial. And just when I think my stomach can go back to normal I see this crap. This girl is the ultimate psycho and her lawyers aren't too far behind.

I'm sure her twisted defense attorneys did this automatically since everyone knows she didn't do anything, not even lie.
