Arrests made in murder of mom Krista Dittmeyer

(CBS/WBZ) CONWAY, N.H. - Three men were arrested Wednesday in connection with the murder of a young mother in New Hampshire in what prosecutors say was a drug deal and robbery.

20-year-old Krista Dittmeyer of Bridgton, Maine was found dead in a snow making pond near the Cranmore Mountain ski area in Conway April 27.

She was last seen alive on April 22. Her 14-month-old daughter was found unharmed the next day in a car in the ski area parking lot.

The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office announced the arrests Wednesday.

Anthony Papile, a 28-year-old of Ossipee, N.H., has been charged with second-degree murder. Trevor Ferguson, a 23-year-old of Tamworth, N.H., and 28-year-old Michael Petelis of Ossipee have each been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery.

Dittmeyer's family told CBS affiliate WBZ that they were not familiar with the three men.

According to court documents, the men plotted to steal money and drugs from Dittmeyer. When she went to Petelis' home in Ossippe, investigators say Papile hit her in the head three times with a rubber club as she walked up the stairs to the apartment.

Then, he and Petelis bound Dittmeyer in duct tape and put her body in the trunk of her car, drove to the pond and dumped it there, according to the documents.

Investigators say Papile then gave Dittmeyer's drugs and money to Ferguson.

Petelis was described by prosecutor as someone who had a relationship with Dittmeyer - a "friend" who called himself Dittmeyer's "protector" while her boyfriend is in prison.

Papile is being held without bail. Petelis and Ferguson were each ordered held on $250,000 cash bail.

I admit my criminal record is not squeaky clean. but i should have been told by Salter College i didnt stand a chance in hell of getting a job. instead after TWO! CORI checks, 3yrs of mind ginding work at a breakkneck pace and $13,700.00 dollars, 1 year of job searching 250+ documented application i have had not one interview, and when i inquired to my shock i was met in a very vulger and unproffessional way. and informed i should look for a job that doesnt do CORI's! I'm sure the intake staff had to no this bit of very important information? and ignored it since they are for profit! at the cost of determined people who have nothing to begin with. who's minding this store which has collected millions of federal money on behalf of those trying to better them selves. i'm so proud of my worthless piece of paper as it depresses me hanging on my wall where i can barely make the rent or the student loan that came with it. Deception,Fraud,opportunistic theft. the have's finding a loop-hole to syphin what little people could imagine. hell i just wanted a opportunity!

You know what, all you judgmental people need to get a grip. Until you walk a mile in someone else's shoes, you really have nothing to say. Do I agree with selling drugs, no? But, we don't know what REALLY happened. If she was dealing, we don't know why. Do I think she should be dead for it H*LL no&And all I can say is, Let he without sin cast the first stone.

I didn't make it up - the media is telling us this stuff. I don't judge... I do speculate, though. Yes, we DON'T know if she was selling drugs -- you're right.. But based on the media and what you've read, what does common sense tell you? Just curious......

But WE all know that the NEWS does make errors as well...And even IF she was dealing drugs...She didn't deserve to be killed especially with her daughter right there. It takes only one person to start a rumor (it could even be the news) and everyone thinks it is true. Think about people that are in prison and then later get out b/c they didn't commit the crime. News media says they are guilty. So let me ask you something, if you are hanging out with a bunch of guys that are drunk or high&Since you like to speculate&What if the cops took you in with them on speculation? And now the news says hey, he was with a group of people that was drinking and drugs, he must have been as well. He speculation would say you were doing it as well&I believe your words were "When you swim with sharks this is what happens."

You need to learn how to READ, my grumpy friend..... Look at the header in my initial entry " ..What the NEWS has told us .." That's what we've heard on TV/Radio/Newspaper etc. I didn't make that stuff up ... Having a child out of wedlock is not a bad thing -- ESP when you're in your 30's or 40's; but this girl was impregnated in her teens ... & at the very least, it is questionable. These guys can SAY anything they want to about her. She's not there to stand up for herself or prove otherwise. They'll smear the victim any way they can to try to save their own sorry @$$es. And some of you guys are just too quick to believe it only because she was a white woman involved with a black man who was involved with drugs. Some of you seem to have forgotten your sheets and hoods when you came out today.

Nothing has even been proven yet that she was dealing drugs! This comes from the 3 thugs that killed her...call me crazy but not to credible! Even if God forbid this turns out to be true, that does not mean that she was a bad person or deserved to die! She was an amazing person no matter what! If this is true, it will in NO way change the memories I have of her or the way that I felt about her! Everyone needs to put themselves in the shoes of her family & imagine if this was your daughter, sister, niece, grandaughter, etc. and how you would feel if the person that you loved so dearly was being portrayed as this horrendous person and mother!! Having to read to these horrid comments is heartbreaking, because these people did not know her! You are so right Jill that these 3 twits will say ANYTHING to save their butts!! Well, here's what the news has told us:

1.) She was involved with drugs and drug money
2.) Her boyfriend is currently incarcerated (felony conviction)
3.) She was willing to deal with less-then-savory characters and did.
4.) She had a kid out of wedlock (not her choice perhaps..) ...So, I'm not a detective but this doesn't smell right from the get-go.

Not all women need to depend on the man to take care of their kids. I certainly don't. Besides that, how many deadbeat dads are out there anyway? There are a LOT of women who don't rely on a man for financial support, because it's pretty well a given that a lot of men aren't dependable anyway. You can "barely afford to take care of" your kids, huh? Sounds like you're one of the irresponsible many men out there.
