(CBS/KHOU/AP) CLEVELAND, Texas - Police say the gang rape of an 11-year-old girl was captured on cell phone video, according to a search warrant affidavit obtained by several Houston media outlets. Eighteen juveniles and adults are accused of sexually assaulting the girl at an abandoned mobile home in Cleveland, Texas.

Police say the lurid video circulated at a small Texas middle school.

The girl, who police have not named, told investigators she was raped at the home on Nov. 28.

Indictments in the case say there also were attacks on Sept. 15 and Oct. 25. Each time, at least two individuals were allegedly involved. The indictments say the girl was attacked by at least three people in November.

Both police and prosecutors have declined to discuss details of the case.

So far, well over a dozen suspects have been arrested in the case, some of whom are juveniles and students.

Investigators believe there could be even more suspects.

"I've heard as many as 28 or more. The case now has 16, 17 people who have been arrested," defense attorney James Evans III told CBS affiliate KHOU.

That would just be one more thing the public oculd use against him and say he was exploiting this childs case for his own political gain. The man is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. smh.. besides this isn't about him...this is about a child who has been horribly tramatized and horrifically abused in the worse way. I don't think she needs our president bringing this to the light... she and her family probably just want justice and to be left alone so they can start the healing process.; Reply to this comment

Has everybody missed the fact that in the article there are three different dates shown for when the supposed rape took place?

My 1st question would be if the girl was raped then why would she go back to the same situation a 2nd and then a 3rd time?

Was she enticed into the situation in some way?

My 2nd question would be where were the parents of this girl?

Let's face it if she were raped (other than statutory rape) there would be some signs of such that the parents should have noticed and questioned.

Black, white, red, yellow or somewhere in between have nothing to do with it. What was done was definitely wrong by all parties and actions should be taken. Nail their scrotum(s) to a barn floor and set the barn on fire while sitting outside with a 50 caliber and let them choose how they want to leave this world.

Where are the throngs of the righteously indignant people, marching in united protest against this monstrous act of inhumanity ? Where are the lawyers representing this little girl and her family, where is the "special" prosecutors and rabid public anger ?

Jessie Jackson ? Al Sharpton ? Hell, I'd even settle for some guilt-ridden bleeding heart, white liberal at this point. Anyone with the courage of true convictions, (at least in their heads), and not the bigoted, publicity seeking, sound bite spewing, over-the-top response of the ego-driven hypocritical lunatic fringe. Where are they ? Where is that voice of genuine outrage ?

Where is the Hispanic demonstrations, the white demonstrations, the Asian demonstrations ? Are black people the only ones who are ever victimized by such disgusting examples of insanity ? Are black people the only ones willing to march against it ? Where are the religious leaders of our many faiths ? Just once, I'd LOVE to see ALL people who are offended and angered over this sort of behavior, protesting in mass unity against it....just once.

I believe such a day is coming.

Excuse me, I gotta turn off my alarm clock....wow, that was some dream.

There are at least a few million people who would disagree with that, a little "ranting" is absolutely appropriate in a case as massively screwed up as this one.

EVERY ONE OF THEM IS BLACK. There is no doubt about that. But. They didn't commit that horrible offense because they are black. Being black had NOTHING to do with this. They are scum no matter what color. No matter who their parents are. No matter who their ancestors were. They are animal behavior pieces of **** who need to NEVER see the light of day again in this life. We should all pray for that little girl and her family and we should ALL pray that justice is done to the fullest extent.

Im just wondering why everyone is making this about race? I dont condone this at all, its disgusting. But everyone wants to make it out to be that only blacks would do something like this. A high majority of sex offenders are white...just saying. These monsters should be punished as harshly as possible, but please make this personal and not racial.

Due to you asking why is this about race, let me ask: Why was the Trayvon case made into a racial thing? It has been proven Zimmerman made no racial slur on the phone. IF Zimmerman had really said a racial slur .... it still should have never been made into a call for "BOOTING UP for a race war!" It still shouldn't have resulted with crimes with the words "for Trayvon" being said before being committed.

AN 11 year old girl needs to be protected. These men took a CHILD and RAPED her childhood away from her and scared her for life. If I was this child's parent, it would be a very bloody deadly future for those animals that RAPED my baby girl. NO MAN COULD STOP ME FROM SEEKING REVENGE FOR MY BABY GIRL.
