Faith Kroll says she'd do Northwestern Univ. sex toy demo again

(CBS/WBBM) EVANSTON, Ill. - Faith Kroll is speaking out on twitter after she and fiancee Jim Marcus climbed on stage in front of about 100 Northwestern University students and demonstrated the use of the motorized sex toy at a recent gathering for a human sexuality class.

"Exhibitionism is not nudist," Kroll wrote on her Twitter accound. "I liked being ME and don't chose to hide me in general. not just my body."

Even as the president of the university is demanding an investigation, Kroll claims that if the circumstances were the same, she'd do it again.

"I feel no shame n i would repeat my actions if the circumstances were the same," Kroll wrote on her account. "[T]hat is not to say i would gon do this allday newhere." [sic]

In the statement from the school, President Morton Schapiro said he was "troubled and disappointed" by the incident and said Prof. John Michael Bailey exercised "extremely poor judgment." He also said he had called for an investigation.

The Feb. 21 demonstration was part of the popular class taught by Prof. Bailey, the Sun-Times is reporting. More than 600 students take the class, which the course description says "will treat human sexuality as a subject for scientific inquiry," reports CBS affiliate WBBM.

At the gathering - which reportedly did not take place during class time - Kroll's fiance penetrated her with a sex toy. Ken Melvoin-Berg, the guest speaker at the gathering, who arranged for the demonstration, described it thusly:

[Kroll] got on stage and took her pants and her panties off. She lay down on the stage and put a towel underneath her...Then [the man] plugged [sex toy] in. He brought her to orgasm right there on stage. That was the end of it, other than the fact that we had positive comments from everybody in the class.

The Daily Northwestern quoted Prof. Bailey saying of the response to the demonstration, "Sticks and stones may break your bones, but watching naked people on stage doing pleasurable things will never hurt you."

by Lilith1988 March 6, 2011 7:49 PM EST: Okay, so here's the thing. I'm totally respectful of anyone's views that the demo was not appropriate for school. That's fine, and you are entitled to your opinion.

But the facts remain.
1. When they entered the class there was a video on of a woman masturbating, the video concluded saying that the only way for a woman to climax was thru cl*toral stimulation, the demo was a spur of the moment decision/suggestion to dissprove that.
2. That was NOT the entirety of their visit, they still did the Q&A session that they originally went for.
3. What they did was by FAR less graphic than what the 600 students in the class were required to watch, this was an OPTIONAL after class panel, and they were warned that it would be graphic.
4. My guess is NONE of you know them personally, so lashing out at their character is ridiculous and makes you look immature and ignorant, please STOP.
5. Have any students actually stepped forward complaining? No. Why? Because if they stayed they chose to do so aware of what was going on.
6. The teacher has controversial panels regularly, it's a part of his class, a well loved class at the University mind you.

The media will twist things to make them more dramatic and that is precisely what has happened here, and all of you jumping on the bandwagon to bash J.Marcus and F.Kroll are stupid not to realize that.

Before you make judgements on a situation be fully aware of it.

All four of the people "in question" are amazing, mature, intelligent, respectful individuals who went to NU to debunk assumptions about BDSM, for educational purposes.

The Alfred Kinsey-ite "Professor" should be fired and all the students enrolled in this "University" might consider demanding their money back. This is not "education" but B.F. Skinnerian Psychological Conditioning. It is no wonder our society has decayed as it had done with such academically atrophied pseudo-science passed off with any semblance of honesty. It is as though to find a true fact seeking intellectually honest educator today is like searching for a diamond in a toilet. Looks like Zygmund Dobb's work "The Great Deceit" and Kilpatrick's "Why Johnny Can't Tell Right from Wrong" are worthy to all related to the above incodent. SRA; Reply to this comment

Who cares what these exhibitionists do in their own lives, but universities are meant to be a means to learn, move toward wisdom, and work on dignity. This is just the most recent example of how professors and sometimes administrations have degraded our (former) institutions of higher learning.

They basically just put on a live porno for class, and my guess is that most (if not all of the students) have seen pornos before, had sex, and/or used a sex toy before; so the point in this "stunt" would be what??? This professor is ignorant for thinking it would just be okay to let students do this, and the students that put on the show have started their porn career now haha! I'm sure they will do it again!!!

"Gross and weird?" Maybe to some. But you know what? You don't know what your friends, your neighbors, maybe people in your family, do in private with their sexual partners. Human experience is wider and more diverse, and honestly, probably more full of sexual kinks, than you might think just walking down the street.
And to the person calling Kroll & Marcus "lowlifes": shame on you. This is the twenty-first century, not the dark ages. You should respect other people's differences and applaud their bravery in assisting science.
Finally, I'm baffled as to why this post appears under a huge banner reading, "Crimesider." That in itself is shameful. No crime was committed here. Yellow journalism much, servants of Murdoch?; Reply to this comment

As an alumnus of Northwestern (class of '96), I applaud my alma mater for allowing frank & honest study of human sexuality in all of its forms. Professor Bailey, who I had as a professor, is not doing this to shock people. He's a serious academic studying an important part of human experience.
"Gross and weird?" Maybe to some. But you know what? You don't know what your friends, your neighbors, maybe people in your family, do in private with their sexual partners. Human experience is wider and more diverse, and honestly, probably more full of sexual kinks, than you might think just walking down the street.
And to the person calling Kroll & Marcus "lowlifes": shame on you. This is the twenty-first century, not the dark ages. You should respect other people's differences and applaud their bravery in assisting science.

Or, would she have become the inhibited modest damsel then. Me thinks, probably so! I think Faith and her so-called fiance knew this stunt would generate publicity and would probably see huge ticket sales at their next gig. Her lowlife Fiancee I guess wanted to share his supposed sweetheart with the world.
