Mary Kay Letourneau, Sex Scandal Teacher, Now Grandmother

(CBS/AP) Mary Kay Letourneau, the teacher who made headlines more than a decade years ago for her sexual relationship with a 13-year-old student, is now a grandmother.

Letourneau, now 48, served more than seven years in prison for her affair with student Vili Fualaau. The two married shortly after Letourneau's release in 2004 and have two daughters together.

In December, Steve Letourneau, one of Mary's four children from her first marriage, became a father, NBC's Today Show reports.

Steve Letourneau is 26 years old - just a year younger than his stepfather.

Letourneau first met Fualaau, now a DJ in the Seattle area, when he was in the second grade. Their relationship became sexual when he was 12 and she was a 34-year-old teacher at a suburban elementary school.

Letourneau was pregnant with Fualaau's first child when she was arrested in 1997. She pleaded guilty to second-degree child rape and was sentenced to 7-and-a-half years in prison, with all but six months suspended.

Within weeks of her release, she was caught having sex with Fualaau in her car and ordered to serve the remainder of her sentence.

Is ANYONE editing these stories? The first paragraph or sentence makes no sense. (CBS/AP) Mary Kay Letourneau, the teacher who made headlines more than a decade years ago for her sexual relationship with a 13-year-old student, is now a grandmother.

She did NOT serve 7 years! She recieved 7.5 years with all but 6 months suspended. She served 6 months in jail.

It was disgusting then and it's still disgusting NOW. This selfish child molesting narcissist has gotten the support of so many people and you have to wonder why? Just because things have worked out between these two doesn't mean things are normal or that it's right. What about what her own children went through for all those years? And how come we NEVER hear about Mary Kay's first husband, the one she had 4 kids with then ditched them to pursue her lust and fantasy with a boy she had been teaching since 2nd grade!?

Vili Fraulauu didn't really develop in a psychological sense, normally. Everything he is, has the taint of LaTourneau. I'd be willing to bet if anything goes haywire in their relationship the next thing we'd hear was that she attempted to take his life. I'm also guessing her having those 2 children was her way of keeping him close and probably told him over and over again that without him her life is over, that HE is the reason for her suffering and sacrifices, just so she obligated him to be with her. Yes, he consented to this relationship only as a young person who did not see a way out.

She is a sick psycho who has gotten to be viewed as some kind of martyr suffering for a cause. And the fact that so many people support them makes it even worse. Had a man done this to a girl, same story, different sex - the world would not have behaved as kindly towards him! She should have been sterilized!I feel absolutely horrible for the children from her first marriage.Poor darling's can't help they got that for a mother all they can do is strive to be WAY BETTER THEN THAT!My heart & Blessings go out to the children & EX husband!God BLESS!

Grats to them.

And I wish people would leave them alone. She served her time, he's now an adult, there must have been something there because they got married and have been making it work. Relationships are hard enough as it is. People need to get over this.

Now let's just say that a male teacher, Letourneau's age at the time, had sex with a 13 year old girl. Number one he would of got more than seven years, but even then let's say he got out, they got married and had kids... it would be outrage wouldn't it hypocrits.,,

What were the laws of Washington state in 1996 (since you said Letourneau's age....at the time) when it came to male sex offenders?! Number one, you're chauvinistic mindset is clouding the fact that sexual crimes have level of offenses. So yeah maybe the male would get a longer sentence....based on his sexual crime.

If the male gets out and the once 13 year old ADULT wants to be married and have children with him......that's their business.

And what's your second point? Your comment said "Number one,...." - so where is "Number two,...."? And that would be LEVELS of offenses, not LEVEL. Don't be hypocritical, hypocrite.
