NEW YORK (CBS) Two doctors have been charged with negligent manslaughter after German porn star "Sexy Cora" died during her sixth breast enlargement operation, according to reports.

The 23-year-old actress, who's real name is Carolin Berger, fell into a coma on Jan. 11 during surgery at a clinic in Hamburg, a spokesperson for the state prosecutor told CNN.

BBC News reports that she may had suffered from two heart attacks after the procedure.

According to German newspaper Bild, she was put into an artificial coma following the procedure. CNN reports she died on Thursday.

A statement from the clinic obtained by CNN said the doctors were "extremely upset and deeply regret the death."

"As matters stand currently a defect in the anesthetizing device can be ruled out," the clinic statement said. "The claim that the monitoring could have given readings other than the actual vital functions of the patient has nothing to do with the facts and has no connection to reality."

The doctors in question are cooperating with police, the statement reads.

The cause of death is unclear and autopsy is scheduled take place next week.

Totally unnecessary surgery. 6 breast operations? Really? She deserved to die for being stupid. Can't say I blame the doctors in this one. This is MJ Syndrome for sure. Besides, big, fake boobs are a total turnoff for me.

I personally have no respect for the courts, prosecuting attorneys, nor the people who make such silly demands.

People its a known issue with the state of medical arts that up to 1-2% of patients go into coma or death from general anesthesia that make you unconscious. Every reputable doctor warns patients of that hazard.

Its why doctors opt for local instead of general anesthesia where possible. The human body really isn't designed to be forced into a slumber so deep that you can be cut up and sewn together again. In nature you would in fact be dead 98% of the time when you body reached a state that sort of thing could happen.

No there are no BETTER alternatives yet. (Acupuncture has its own issues and is usually considered a local.)

SO unless there is something specifically negligent and non-standard...give the doctors a rest. Most feel bad enough about such failures for professional pride even if their humanity is gone.; Reply to this comment
