NEW YORK (CBS) Police say Jared Loughner, the suspect in the Arizona shooting rampage that left six dead and over a dozen wounded including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, posed in photos with a Glock 9mm while wearing a red g-string, according to a report.

Walgreens turned the photos over to police, according to a police source that spoke to CBS News.

Police say Loughner had dropped the photos off to be developed.

The New York Times reports that according to police, in some photos Loughner is holding the weapon by his crotch; in others, apparently taken in a mirror, he is holding it near his buttocks.

The gun is reportedly the same model Loughner is accused of using in the shooting.

Loughner, 22, is currently only facing federal charges for the Saturday morning massacre. Pima County Attorney Barbara LaWall has said her office is looking into state charges as well. He is being held without bail in a Phoenix jail.

You can count on instant fame, let the court system decide what to do with a life you can't manage. It's great hearing the gun debate carry on... and on... we can't stop idiots with pistols and 30 round clips. So lets investing in mental health. Whoops, the republicans aren't going to let that happen either. But their is a bill proposed to limit anyone with a gun from being within 1000 feet from a "top" federal official or congressman. I WAS WATCHING 60 minutes se and i listen to how the secret servicemen describe the shooter and i as i listen i noticed there was a lot of unbelievable similarities to this situation very comparible to a movie i watched the other day called RAMPAGE. If you was to see this movie you to would see just what i'm talking about. Who ever produced this film either they are terrorist themselves or they're thinking just what this guy was thinking. I'm trying to reach the secret servicemen office about this i do believe the shooter got some of his thoughts i mean the plotting, the practicing with the gun and even a last minute phone call. Don't take my word for it just see the movie because it is a very disturbing movie. how can i reach the secret service office in detroit michigan because this is real. If you have been following the articles you can see how at times he is totally psychotic, Manic. Whats creepy is how controlled it is. He is not so far gone that he is unable to fool at least one Walmart employee, a police officer and whoever else he came into contact with. He was together enough to ditch the bag after being pulled over. I am told psychotics are very good at fooling people, lying and mimicing emotional response they are otherwise unable to genuinely feel themselves. This guy fits the text book description to a tee. But is this a true definition of insanity or is he just a little bit crazy?

by youbrew12 January 16, 2011 3:38 PM EST: Not enough is said about how this is one face of unemployment. A lot of young guys Loughner's age are unemployed and have been for some time. If they are egotistical, this is going to hurt and they are going to be looking for answers. Clearly, the hardest answer for him was his own behavior, so that was the first one he discarded (being an egomaniac). I think his own disappointment, his inability to hold down a job, join the military, or go to school, led him to this dark place. He was probably quite intelligent (he rants repeatedly about how everyone around him is 'illiterate'), and egotistical, so why can't he even find a job? No job, no girlfriend. No girlfriend, no 'you-know-what'. And, being intelligent, understanding that, to some degree, this isn't even his fault, but due to socioeconomic powers beyond his control. That would drive a lot of guys crazy.

I haven't heard one word yet as to why his parents did not take drastic measures with him, knowing he was obviviously in need of A Psychaitrist. The parents did nothing evidently to keep this kid from being a threat to others.

Arizona does have pretty progressive mental health laws. Sadly the state has also recently made the news for refusing to pay for organ transplants that have led to the deaths of two people (if I am correct on the number). The state is bankrupt. But who would know if this had anything to do with these parents not seeking help or not.

If we are looking at why their was a lack of recognition of the danger their childen possed? Perhaps the best place to start would be Mark David Chapman who killed John Lennon. Just my opinion, but I think Chapman and he is the one whose behavior so far fits Jared Loghner.

I've had a personal friend go schizophrenic, I've seen mentally impaired (mostly homeless) people talking to the air near where I live. I can't imagine any of them being as directed as this Loughner individual has been. Most schizophrenics, if they are capable of violence, can't distinguish a politician from a neighbor, such is their hold on reality. Loughner specifically targets a Dem politician and her supporters, knows he needs an extended clip to maximize the damage, makes the further precaution of buying a BAG full of extra ammo the day before the murder (process that in time... DATC), (happily thwarted by his own dad), takes a series of photos of himself and his gun (which he must know will be worth $$$$$ after the shooting), and cracks his best 'crazy guy' smile at his booking, bolstering his defense.

The best 'handle' on this guy may be John Hinckley, who tried to assassinate Reagan. Yes, Hinckley was mentally unstable, as is Loughner (as, arguably, is anyone who commits mass-murder). But Hinckleys dad was a big Bush Sr supporter. Hinckley got it in his mind that Jody Foster would love him if he did this, but it was his dads love he was after, I think. These guys aren't totally crazy, I've seen too many real crazy people to think that. Hinckley and Loughner were after a fathers love, in a household where that was never going to happen. They haven't lost their hold on reality, they were just deeply, deeply disturbed by the disappointment of not living up to a conservative, libertarian, patriarchal ethic. And each of them saw one, last chance, of living up to that ethic: or to die trying.

For the record, Hinckley was not trying to live up to his ultra conservative father, he merely became a delusional kid whose wealthy parents were far too easy going with him. If you want to play the radical right political card, you can justifiably blame Reagan who started closing too many of the Mental Hospitals and future Democrat presidents made no effort to reopen them.

The deinstitutionalization of the mentally retarded and ill began after a lawsuit in 1970, Watt vs Strickney. It is legally a very important case. Perhaps you should review it.
