FarmVille Playing Mom Admits She Killed Infant Who Interrupted Facebook Game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) Alexandra Tobias, a Florida mother accused of shaking her 3-month-old son to death after he interrupted her FarmVille game on Facebook, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

The 22-year-old was charged in the January death of her baby, Dylan Lee Edmondson.

She entered her plea on Wednesday.

Tobias told investigators she became angry after the baby cried while she was playing the  computer farm simulation game, and she shook him.

She also said she smoked a cigarette to compose herself and then shook the baby again, at which time he may have hit his head, the station reported.

State guidelines call for 25 to 50 years in prison, but a prosecutor said Tobias' sentence could be shorter than that.

Similar to the case involving 19 year old Andrew Keith Johnston who was sentenced to 27 Years For Killing his infant son for interrupting his video game (http://wp.me/p1h552-bV), we have to ask ourselves what is going on in our society and whether or not on-line games are indeed a dangerous addiction as opposed to a harmless pastime.

I would like to share my comments on this story. This is very sad that her social network game was so so much more important than her child. Shame on her it is thousands of people who want children in this world and I am one of them. I could not even imagine wanting to hurt a child I value both my boys and I wish someone would even think about hurting one them that would be my last day because someone would have to lock me up. How could a
woman do that to her own flesh and blood Wow SMH I pray that the lord let justice be served this little boy didn't not deserved this..... I am so sad about this

wow, i was searching for a picture to describe my life for the 50 day challenge on facebook. i was looking for a picture of a baby and their mom because i spend everyday with my baby. then i kept seeing this woman, and when i read this i was disgusted. how could someone do such a thing? i hope she regrets every damn minute and i hope her life is miserable in jail. i honeslty beleive that if you take a life, we should take yours. :]

I'm a teenage mom of a 7 month old. I got into farmville while I was pregnant because I was sick most of my pregnancy and got put on bedrest. Farmville IS addicting once you get into it but I would never choose a game over my son, or any child, especially a baby. That is ridiculous.

Ok, this pisses me off to no ******* end! This woman should be drug outside and shot like a rabid animal. First for the obvious, she killed her innocent baby who just needed his mommy and second because she gives all gamers who are also parents a bad name. I mean farmville, really? last time I checked farmville want even a real time game.
I am a married 25 year old mother of 2, I am also a gamer.... I play World of Warcraft as well as a slew of other long form games. I would NEVER think of harming my child over a video game, I mean some of the stuff in wow takes hours and explaining to a raid party that you have to tab out to change a diaper can get u grief but come on people, if you are a parent it doesnt matter what you are doing, the kids come first. I am soooo sickened by this story and it makes me want to run and hug my children so tight. They are my life.... I may be a gamer but I am ALWAYS a MOTHER FIRST!
I hope someone kills her in prison.
