Ines Sainz (PICTURES): New York Jets Will "Cooperate" in Reporter Locker Room Probe

NEW YORK (CBS) Four days after Sportscaster Ines Sainz says she was "dying of discomfort" due to the "rude" behavior displayed by the New York Jets during a practice on Saturday, head coach Rex Ryan said the team is "here to cooperate."

"I think everyone knows me well enough and we want to have an environment here where everyone is comfortable," Ryan said during a Tuesday press conference.

While Sainz, a reporter for the Mexican network TV Azteca, was working on a story about quarterback Mark Sanchez, she had footballs thrown in her direction by several players and a Jets coach. Players later called out to her in the team's locker room.

"I don't know all the specifics of what is going on," Ryan during the press conference. "The NFL is here, I can tell you that today. They are here investigating. We're open. Whoever the NFL wants to talk to - I'm not sure who it is - but we'll let that play out."

Sainz has generally downplayed the incident, but explained to CBS News' "The Early Show" on Tuesday that the moment she walked into the Jets' locker room, everyone started talking about her and making jokes.

"I decided not to pay attention. I was focusing on my interview so I go direct to the locker of room of Mr. Sanchez and I wait for him," she said. "But I believe that the rest of the media start to hear the different kind of things that I didn't hear. And sometime in a minute, a colleague [said], 'Come with me, and I'm so sorry...It's terrible. I feel sorry for you.' So I tried to say, 'Don't worry, I can handle the situation.' And that's it. And I don't even try to pay attention."

Sainz says she trusts the NFL and believes they will take the appropriate action in regard to the incident.

If its about fairness, then designate that no reporters male or female are permitted in the locker rooms until the players had a chance to change and cool down from the game.; Reply to this comment


by EditorialNow September 17, 2010 7:19 AM EDT: Any anthropologist could explain to the American public the reason for this occurrence. The physical appearances of men and women have been carefully ? consciously and unconsciously ? crafted for a few thousand years to achieve two specific results. One, to maximize one?s sexual attractiveness in order to procreate the species. Two, to restrain this genetic propensity from turning the society of man into a dysfunctional state, incapable of carrying out relationships of the society, and thus dooming the society to extinction.

In this matter, women wear dresses or skirts to reveal enough of the leg, blouses (not shirts) to reveal enough of the breast, bras to provide a more youthful appearance to the breast like that of a fertile female, high-heel shoes to accentuate the buttocks, and ample make-up to make it appear that the female is in a state of sexual excitation.

Modern society is obsessed with these sexual markers, and at the same time, the new ?rights? of society declares that the sexes are equal in all matters, and women cannot be discriminated against in any of these matters. We have set up an equation of political and genetic opposites that cannot produce a logical conclusion. Politics (relationships) cannot remold the nature of genetics in so short a period of time. If one were to believe in evolution, one would realize this fact.

The primary result of this push is an odd state of humanity in which women provide an appearance outward to society that they are sexual creatures and, at the same time, men have to look past that appearance and use other markers to determine whether the woman is advancing her sexuality or simply engaging in the acceptable habit of appearing provocative without any intent to receive men?s flirtations or intentional pursuit.

It?s a very confusing situation; where women hold the power of the species and thus create an unequal society. It seems that what we have is a condition where women are criticizing any attempt to achieve equality; an equality that would demand women to change their habit of appearance (and behavior) if they truly wanted to be treated as equals.; Reply to this comment

The funny thing is is that the Latin TV shows I've seen flount sex all over the place. Even game shows have a gang of tight-dressed girls whose only job is to move around when the music plays and look good.; Reply to this comment

It really doesn't matter the way she dresses anyway. Because she will always turn heads wherever she goes. But going to any NFL Camp wearing blue jeans where your rear-end looks great hanging out from all angles is a very bad idea.
She clearly was clueless when coming on the field dressing provacative like that. She was clueless because she forget that she was in America and not overseas where women who actually report like she does dress sexy like she did.
Sofia Vergara used to do some very sexy reporting in her time for Univision.
By the way without being sexually demeaning myself and sounding like a jerk.
Nice BUNS, Ines you're very attractive, you might want to tone it down a bit.
If you're supposed to be a professional journalist then dress like one stop attracting attention for yourself like a stripper at a bachelor party.
It's a professional enviroment dress like the rest of the professionals.
So is this JET controversy anywhere near Joe Namath wanting to KISS Suzy Kolber?
If their going to act like little kids instead of grown men what are they saying about the cheerleaders on the sideline? ( 0bviously nothing that can be captured on a microphone during an NFL game to be listened by the viewers nation and worldwide like listening to the quarterback shouting out his plays.)
What about Coach Rex Ryan tossing footballs in her direction so they can go over and talk to her? HELLO? Is that the proper behavoir for an NFL Coach? ( If she's looking for that kind of attention then she will get it)
If she's not are we talking about grown men here or a room with 53 men who are potential rapists? This will be taken care of because the NFL doesn't want this reflected in their image with women now being big fans of football and its reputation and millions of dollars at stake.
But for somebody who's studied criminal psychology with interest in law enforcement and has worked in the private sector in restaurants. This kind of behavoir always goes on from guys who think they are above the law, harrass both male and female co-workers and are the above average homophobic who think if they could get away with rape, well they would do it. It goes on all the time without being reported because this type of behavoir is accepted by everybody despite being unlawful and illegal without a crime being committed. It is never reported because people are too scared to stand up for themselves to report it. In many years I have gone from working with honest people either in school trying to raise families to guys who have turned out to be potential thiefs, Murderers and rapists.

Stop making our guys out to be the bad guys. She knew going in there that she was dressed in a way that would bring attention to herself. In an interview she had her blouse unbuttoned down past her breast's. You could tell the man she was speaking to was uncomfortable but is she saying she's sorry?; Reply to this comment

by bigoldic September 16, 2010 12:56 PM EDT: First of all this lady needs to decide whether she's a professional reporter or a playboy model.
Second, if she calls herself a reporter then perhaps she should dress like one, and not like a cocktail waitress. Thats if she wants to be taken seriously.
Third, expect to be hit on when you dress like a tart, period.
If she was so sensative to attention she wouldnt dress as if she wants the entire world to take notice of her.
If you dont want to be hit on or are sensative to commentary from men then dont dress like that, especially around forty monstrous men with testosterone dripping from their pores. I bet if Tom Brady would hit on her it wouldnt be accepted as harrassment. What a flousy.; Reply to this comment
