Ines Sainz (PICTURES): What Happened to Reporter Inside NY Jets Locker Room?

NEW YORK (CBS/AP) Ines Sainz says she never felt like she was "attacked" when she entered the New York Jets locker room on Saturday to interview quarterback Mark Sanchez.

"In my opinion, I never felt I was attacked," the Mexican sportscaster told Spanish-language program DeporTV on Monday. "I went to the locker room and started to talk about commentary and sports. Another reporter approached me to say he was sorry these things were happening...and that evidently people were making fun of me."

Prior to her presence in the locker room - where players called out to the TV Azteca reporter - footballs were thrown in her direction by a Jets coach during practice.

She told TV Azteca that though she was embarrassed, she didn't take it to heart and didn't realize it was going to become such a big deal, according to CNN.

"It was definitely a joking tone, very amicable," Sainz said in an interview with a colleague. "I wasn't offended."

On Sunday, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said that the league and the Jets began looking into the situation when they were made aware of it Saturday night.

The Jets released a statement about the incident, saying that they "will continue to work with the League to gather the facts and take any appropriate steps necessary to maintain a respectful environment for the media."

The statement says owner Woody Johnson spoke to Sainz on Sunday to discuss the incident, and that he "stressed to Ines that he expects all members of the Jets organization to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times."

by toddhert September 30, 2010 11:25 PM EDT: I heard a female reporter say that "the culture of Mexican jouralists is just more sexual than we are". Well guess what? This isn't Mexico! Maybe this girl needs to take an International Relations class if she's too dumb to understand or respect our culture. Our female journalists respect Islamic cultures by wearing headscarves when reporting in the middle east. Why can't this girl dress and act a little more modestly when visiting our culture? That a female is permitted into a male locker room where men are undressing and taking shower! There is no reason that any one reporter of the opposite sex should have to enter a locker room! There is no reason that a reporter of any sex has to enter a locker room! It should be off limit to anyone not on the team period! There is no dyer need to enter a locker room there no interview that important! The football player that made the statement " that there is going to be sexual attraction when someone of the opposite sex enters a locker room where people are naked and getting undress was RIGHT! He was later force to apologize for his statement! Who made it legal because of a job to violate the rights of men to undress and shower and use the bathroom in private in a male locker room! So if a female reporter wanted to enter a male restroom after a game is that also permitted!It is outrageous and plain STUPID that a female reporter is in a male locker room! She has no business in a male locker room! Ines Sainz can't even speak English! This is nothing more then the media making a controversy where there is NONE! The true controversy should be a female in a male locker room where men are getting undress! If any body should be charge with sexual misconduct . It should be this Ines Sainz that has a web site with sexy clothing and can't speak English well and somebody hire her to be a reporter! Such a double standard women reporters should not be allowed in a male locker room just as male reporters are not allowed in female locker rooms! It is sick how women today are fast to yell sexual mistreatment! In this case it is totally NOT sexual misconduct. The idiot reporter went into a male locker room CASE OVER! This double standard happen with female police officer! They are now strip searching men but male police officers CANNOT strip females! WHY?? More and more men are being treated as second class citizen and more and more with less respect! Men have NO rights in saving their unborn children or even getting their children when the women state she does not want the birth baby! Men have sacrifice more of their life's for this country and that should be respected! This incident puts a light on the disrespect of men NO THIS REPORTER! I am a 55 yr. old woman; I WORKED my way up from CDL Truck Driver and Laborer to WEC Supervisor for one of the largest contracting companies in the Southeastern United States. I had modeled off and on for nationally recognized catalog clothing/apparelretail stores. I have never asked for a free ride and have always EARNED my wages through HARD WORK. Even in a MAN's WORLD, if you DEMAND RESPECT and GIVE RESPECT PLUS HAVE JUST A LITTLE COMMON SENSE NOT TO PUT YOURSELF IN AWKWARD SITUATIONS, you can excel and find your work rewarding. A woman can control an awkward situation better than some men may understand....IF she has just a bit of common sense! I would never allow even co-workers of ANY sex to be in my dressing/bathing area and I would never disrespect others by putting myself in a man's locker room.; Reply to this comment

Was her outfit the cause?? She was wearing a white blouse and a pair of jeans. Not her fault she has a body and full backside. If that same outfit was on a person with a smaller backside, would it have been has provocative? Probably not, but it's not like she was half naked. Gees!

I am a woman; throughout my teens and twenties I modeled for major clothing/apparel catalog retail stores; I operated heavy equipment, was a CDL Driver and WORKED my way up to Supervisor for one of the still-largest contracting companies in the Southeastern United States. I demanded respect and I GAVE RESPECT...I never put myself nor any of "my guys" into situations that were ackward or suggestive. A bit of common sense goes a long way.....she should never disrespected herself nor the team by placing herself in the men's locker room. Would the media listen to a man in sandals whine because he stubbed his toes while rock climbing? Why did they give any attention to this whining woman?

I think it's about time to stop ignoring the vast inequalities when it comes to female vs. male reporters in locker rooms. I truly believe that if women are going to enter an "eminently male" (and without trying to be sexist!) terrain specially being so beautifull and so sexilly dressed then she should also be willing to accept the behavior that will most normally be arisen by such a dress. Just look at the way this reporter was dressed in yesterday mornings interview! It was very hard for me to keep my eyes away from her "toraxic" area! Also, look at the way she has dressed in other interviews with "all male" sports teams (as shown in yesterday's newscast). Let's be honest with each other, Why haven't male reporters been allowed into women's locker rooms to do interviews? and can we even imagine a "hot male reporter" entering a female only locker room dressed in an extremely provocative way? Do you imagine what would happen if a male reporter came into a female locker room???? He would most probably be taken into custody and brought up on charges of everything from peeping, going through the "harrasment" spiel and even maybe be charged with attempted rape! In sum, I'm all for women being able to do what they strive to do, be good at it, excell and get paid just as much as men do but, just like anywhere else, women should dress appropriately to the environment they're going to find themselves in or expect that there will be a reaction (not always a good one) if they don't...

I am a woman who worked in a male occupation and excelled....I had five crews of good men whom I respected and received respect in return. I am retired now but still often hear from "my guys" and their families. Common sense and a little respect go a very long way.
