Ines Sainz (PICTURES): Mexican Reporter was "Dying of Discomfort" in Jets Locker Room

NEW YORK (CBS/AP) Mexican sportscaster Ines Sainz tweeted that she was "dying of discomfort" when she entered the New York Jets locker room on Saturday to interview quarterback Mark Sanchez.

"I'm dying of discomfort!" the former Miss Spain said on Twitter at 1:50 p.m. on Saturday. "I am in the Jets Locker room waiting for Mark Sanchez, while trying not to look to anywhere!"

Prior to her presence in the locker room - where players called out to the TV Azteca reporter - footballs were thrown in her direction by a Jets coach during practice.

She told TV Azteca that though she was embarrassed, she didn't take it to heart and didn't realize it was going to become such a big deal, according to CNN.

"It was definitely a joking tone, very amicable," Sainz said in an interview with a colleague. "I wasn't offended."

On Sunday, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said that the league and the Jets began looking into the situation when they were made aware of it Saturday night.

The Jets released a statement about the incident, saying that they "will continue to work with the League to gather the facts and take any appropriate steps necessary to maintain a respectful environment for the media."

The statement says owner Woody Johnson spoke to Sainz on Sunday to discuss the incident, and that he "stressed to Ines that he expects all members of the Jets organization to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times."

The "reporter" that was harassed in the locker room invited cat calls and everything else that happened with her choice of clothing and providing ready access to the assets they were addressing. Her choice of clothing for the locker room and your show were offensive to me (former female journalist on local level)! I would never have worn such an outfit to ANY interview, but especially a sporting event. Her clothes were too tight and her bosoms were practically pushed in the faces, even this morning on your show.

Almost all of the female so called journalists there dress quite provocatively. As for you being a female journalist on the local level, You should know, sex sells. That's probably why you never went national. Why don't we apply those same standards of behavior to the NFL? Oh, and one more thing, do you believe that women invite rape also?


by Vertrauen September 15, 2010 2:43 PM EDT: Actually indyjeepman, your argument works against you as well - just because it's appropriate in Mexico doesn't make it so here. You're applying Mexican standards of behaviour to American standards of acceptance and implying we need to feel badly for her uncomfortable situation for her lack of dressing in appropriate reporting attire - she should not have been in the mens locker room to begin with - you wouldn't dare catch a male reporter in a women's locker room - If an American woman dressed inappropriately in Iran she would be thrown in jail - it's about behaving properly in a foreign country - And nobody said women 'invite' rape on this board, however, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the manner in which an individual dresses sends a public message whether it be provocative, professional, casual etc. However, if she wore that outfit to interview a group of felons in a prison yard, chances are pretty good she would be raped before the interview were over - unlikely scenario, but same concept - and your comment about sex sells also places the very same question you asked right back to you - sex sells, so does it invite rape?

If she feels "discomfort" in the MEN's locker room then she should either stay out of the locker room or dress appropriately. What ever happened to the women's jogging suits? But she would probably unzip the top to her belly button...lol KICK HER OUT OF THE LOCKER ROOM...that place is for men only!!!; Reply to this comment
