Video Shows Girl Throwing Live Puppies into the River (CBS)

NEW YORK (CBS) Police in Bosnia say they have located the girl that sparked global outrage after a disturbing online video surfaced showing her throwing live puppies into a raging river.

London newspaper The Telegraph reports the girl was found after several tips trickled in from animal rights groups in Bosnia.

Officials say the girl is a minor and they are not releasing her name, according to The Telegraph.

In the 43-second clip, a girl with blonde hair, wearing a red-hooded sweater is seen grabbing six puppies from a white bucket and hurling them into a river.

At one point, someone can clearly be heard saying "whee!" while a black-and-white puppy is thrown into the water.

The video was posted on YouTube, but has since been taken down. The video surfaced online earlier this week, igniting an angry online crusade to identify the woman.

"The public has good reason to be concerned," PETA Manager Martin Mersereau said in an official statement. "According to law-enforcement agencies and leading mental-health professionals, perpetrators of violent acts against animals are often repeat offenders who pose a serious threat to all animals - including humans."

According to the New York Daily News, the girl's parents are being questioned by local police.

Well Alex, if you picketed and protested your insightful thoughts and someone got enraged enough to throw a brick at you from a moving car, you'd at least have the knowledge of knowing why the brick was thrown at you. So tell me how you are better than a dog, and yet in all your divine ways, inferior to a virus.... The virus at least uses your tissue for it's gain to reproduce so theres a gain from your demise.

So tell me consumer Alex, why sould any doctor treat you having less innocence and empathy dispayed than a fatal virus? The dogs death served no gain and is a crime against life, but the willingness to exibit and distribute this death parade... shows whats humans are all about "wheee", You know it's not like we know much about the virus, but the virus will learn of our ways... and it doesnt matter if the virus has to think to learn... It's many forms will need different more abundant prey as we keep on killing everything else for any reason we can.. we made ourselves the abundant food source and the human race will go extinct with an innocent, futile, whimper of help similar to "only puppies".
Have fun beliving puppies are inferior, your body is inferior to a newly born species of virus created/evolved every year. some say the annual flu virus comes from poor farming methods (animal neglegence). Theres many more strain of virus than there was 100 years ago One of which mentioned here, tell me what animal our scientists have tracked the aids virus back to, if you're real smart after you learn, wanna know the details... but its evident either from a divine source or a retailiation from nature we were given a gift for our lack of consideration and empathy.

We are cared for by a natual balance. There's certainly no missing link from monkey to human as demonstrated by the aids virus. It has a whole kingdom of species with no derivation or links, were already a #1 food source it's the real superpredator with absolutly nothing to prey on it, so lets keep pushing, right?

The saddest part here, Apes in captivity can identify the delicate proportions of a baby creature outside it's own species, and give it empathy. So I dare you to take it's "only puppy" and chuck it, Superior Species Alex. The Ape recognises your defensive capabilites as an adult of your speices. Based on the apes and my own, common understanding of empathy, the ape will kill you and fling you and being shot by bullets wont stop it's empathy or quick 1200 kilo thusts proving its rage torwards the dying of a light, was not in vain. Compassion against cruel and unusual punisment? No, Perhaps Alex and chernobyl-girl(video) are a dif speices. Can someone check their difference in our genome along with their proof of sentient thought? There should be a definitive licencing system in place against such fraud, while awarding rights to the gorrila, the obvious hero to any human child.
