Paris Hilton to Face Felony Drug Charge, Say Reports

NEW YORK (CBS) Paris Hilton has reportedly said she is not worried about her recent arrest for felony possession of cocaine - but maybe she should be.

Apparently, Las Vegas District Attorney David Roger, who put OJ Simpson behind bars on robbery charges, does not look kindly upon celebrities who feel they can come to Las Vegas and not play by the rules.

A source close to the case told RadarOnline.com that Roger is not looking to offer Hilton a plea deal on her cocaine possession charge and will attempt to put the hotel heiress away for one to four years.

TMZ reports that the DA has already filed the felony case against the hotel heiress.

In the aftermath of Friday's arrest, Hilton attempted to explain her predicament by claiming that the purse, as well as the cocaine inside, belonged to one of her girlfriends.

Hilton told the arresting officer that she had borrowed the purse because the one she brought did not match her outfit.

She admitted to owning the money, credit cards, and the broken prescription drug pill inside, but not the 0.8 grams of cocaine which fell out of the purse while she was trying to retrieve her lip balm, says RadarOnline.com.

The 29-year-old's boyfriend Cy Waits was also arrested during the stop on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

It has also been reported that the 34-year-old Las Vegas nightclub tycoon was fired from his managerial posts at both Wynn and Encore properties.

I DON'T GIVE A DAMN IF it's 0.8 grams or more! if you were a hobo out on the street they would be arrested. You do the crime you do the time. I mean there are some people ( i don't see why) but some girls look up to her would you want you kid look up to someone who drinks and drives or is in possession of cocaine? Please GIVE ME A BRAKE.

Remember how she was crying and having panic attacks at the prospect of a few weeks in jail. She was afraid someone would sneak in a camera to take pitcures of her on the toilet. States should pass laws to the effect that if the prison system goes overbudget, the money would be recouped through pay cuts to the law enforcement community, from the judges and DAs down to the prison guards. Nothing encourages rational sentencing like financial incentives.; Reply to this comment

this is a joke. another authoritarian in a position of power that is sure to abuse it in a case like this. the hiltons have a lot of money ... maybe something will suddenly show up from david roger's past that ends his career.

WOW!!! All the rich and famous people can do DRUGS! DRINK and DRIVE HECK probably would get away with murder even! This is some BULL SH** you know citys and towns everywere are gonna start saving news like this and say if lohan gets away with it and paris gets away with it then I could get away with it. Oh there are just so many people like them that get away with everything and it makes me sick!!!! they are just so freakin GROSS and nasty!!!

that's nice ... take possession of 0.8 grams of coke and equate it to murder.

do you know how much 0.8 grams is? pick up your salt shaker off your kitchen table and turn it over and shake it twice ... and you have 0.8 grams in front of you. yea ... that's cleary as bad as murder.
