"Baby With Bong" Facebook Photo Arrest; Fla. Mom Rachel Stieringer Faces Drug Charges

KEYSTONE HEIGHTS, Fla. (CBS/AP) Remember this little guy?

The Florida mother who took this photo seen around the world has been arrested.

Nineteen-year-old Rachel Stieringer turned herself in to Clay County Sheriff's deputies and has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after she took a picture of her baby "smoking" out of a bong and posted it on Facebook.

Stieringer claimed that the photo was taken as a joke to show one of her friends;  however, the supposed prank backfired bigtime when a Texas resident got wind of the photo and notified Florida's abuse hot line.

The Florida Department of Children and Families launched an investigation into Stieringer's parenting skills and announced Monday that although the bong appears to be smoke-filled the baby sustained no injuries in the taking of this photo, and his drug tests came back negative.

However, his chances of someday being appointed to the Supreme Court have taken a big hit.

Truthfully though, what is the point? If they are that concerned they should take the baby away, and stop with the nonsense "charges". Of course, taking the baby away from the mother would be wrong too.

What??? Don't they have to find the pipe with residue in it to charge her with this? That could be a water pipe with a pellet of dry ice. As ludicrous as that may sound, they really have no proof to charge her without the evidence. That Texas jerk should mind their own business by the way.

RIDICULOUS. LUDICROUS. The dumb girl made a stupid mistake to post this picture. The baby was not smoking pot. Someone she knows is so brainwashed by the dare program they really think pot is like as dangerous as meth or cocaine or crack or heroin or pcp, BUT IT IS NOT. You cannot OD on pot, you cannot get lung cancer from pot, yet we spend BILLIONS to combat it, police lock up 800,000 people a year for use alone. This poor stupid young mother now has a record. Such a shame because there are truly horrible atrocious things happening every day. The police should focus their efforts to arrest REAL CHILD ABUSERS, instead of just these freaks off on light sentences. It is a god damn shame.
