World Cup Viewer Hector Castro Kills 2-Year-Old for Crying During Match, Say Cops

McALLEN, Texas (CBS/AP) Hector Castro, a 27-year-old McAllen, Texas man, is charged with capital murder for fatally beating his 2-year-old stepdaughter, when she wouldn't stop crying as he watched a World Cup game.

McAllen Police Sgt. Joel Morales says Castro was charged Monday after his Saturday arrest. The 27-year-old Texas man is being held on $1 million bond at the Hidalgo County jail.

Police Chief Victor Rodriguez says Castro told investigators the toddler wouldn't stop crying while he was trying to watch the U.S.-Ghana matchup Saturday.

Rodriguez says the child was severely beaten and suffered several broken ribs.

Police also say a screw or bolt was forced down her throat in an apparent attempt to make it look like she choked to death.

by James_Texas July 10, 2010 9:13 PM EDT: Well, this trial will bring another protest from Mexico trying to protect their Mexican Citizen (i.e. Illegal Alien) from Texas' evil death penalty. It's terrible so much of Texas is becoming like Mexico where there is no respect for human life or private property. WOW first of all, are you people Gods. Nope so stop saying kill the guy, you don?t even know the story right all is what you see in the news, this guy been here since 2 years old and graduated from Edinburg high with honors. Have you asked yourself hey where is the mother, why she is in my space, going out and calling family members and saying different stories every time. yep and saying that all he wanted was for his son not to be with the mom because she have priors of child abuse and they took her kids before he was with her. now why is all this and she calls saying that he said is ok I take the blame just promise you give my son to my mom, this guy I know and he is not what seems here but hey he say I did it and cops are going to close this fast. So what I say get the facts and see what happens and talk **** after. Yeah sounds like a monster but you don?t know really what happen in that house, where was the mom, home? Drinking and the same night that this happened she was saying f!!!!ing girl and all that all she does is cry. What kind of mother says that after 6 hrs that her daughter was killed? Wow you dint know that?

I was appalled when I saw all the angry messages saying to kill him and make him suffer. I understand why people say things like that but I wish they would realize that they don't know the full story. Really, only he and God know the real story. Whatever happens though, I'll stand up for him. I believe him when he says he didn't do it. I was good friends with him once upon a time and I know he was never that kind of guy. People change, but if he says he didn't do it, which he has, then I believe that 100%.


by st_rick December 23, 2010 9:54 PM EST: he shoved a bolt down her throat!!!! how can you justify that! he failed a lie detector test, and told many stories before admitting guilt after failing the test. HE DID IT! and forensics will prove it beyond a reasonable doubt through fist impressions on the child and the DNA evidence that he was covered in....youre just as much of a monster for defending this waste of human life. I hope he is raped repeatedly in prison before they take his meaningless life. im sorry for his family, but he is a waste of life and texas will surely end it.

by texasheat125 July 4, 2010 7:14 AM EDT: look who ever writing this commments bad things about my sister that is not true..you are so stupit..first of all she was buying stuff in H.E.B.in her home town..plus other stuff as well..while hector castro was @ home all by him self with the kids..my sister past the lie decector test....hector castro did not pass the lie dectector test..and my sis is very good mom to her kids..get'it right people..when hector castro failed the lie dectector test..after that..he told the truth to the cops..that he killed my sister little girl..and yes my niece is in better place right now...i love alot..and i did lived with my sister and with hector castro....i never did lik'ed him very much..now he have to pay the price...the d.a. office will go for the death penalty...couse what he did is a..capital murder..and he is a monster..he did not cry when he new that my niece was dead..not even he called the 911...my sister had to call the 911..what that tells you plus after hector castro killed the child he put her to bed..way after that..thats when my sister ask hector...where is my doughter..hector told my sister....she is asleep...thats when my sister told her husbend.... hector go wake up adriana..hector looked to my sister very strange looks..like he never did that before his strange looks...thats when my sister told hector....hector what heppen!!!...thats when my sister went to the bedroom..and found adriana dead and she had to call the 911..hector never cryed when he killed adriana...

Already judges, How about the mom? see you dint know that in 2004 and child svs took her kids away and gave them bak and again same thing happened after that 2 yrs later. Hector was not even on the picture. she gave 5 different strories and got arrested first, and next day she called friends asking to go party in a club. now what kind of mother is her and also she was saying that this girl all she did was f!!!!!ing cring, and girl was dead, wow thats a mother? now he said all i want is my kid to go to my mother not to stay with her because she is abusive and since he is illegal there was nothing he could have done. now did he killed her or she did and he is taking the blame, if he did then he pay but if she did she needs to pay and if he was acomplice then he pays too. but look at all the facts.; Reply to this comment

how many "step" murders to we have to hear about before moms/dads understand nobody loves your baby better then you! I know there are some great step parents and hats off to them - BUT there are signs nobody just flys off the handle and kills a baby for making noise during a stupid game plus stick a bolt down her throat - may he go to jail forever and never get to look at another t.v.
