Van der Sloot Files Complaint Against Chief Detective, Say Reports

NEW YORK (CBS/AP) Joran van der Sloot has filed a complaint of misconduct against chief of detectives Col. Miguel Canlla and other officials involved in his murder investigation, according to reports.

According to newspaper El Comercio, the Dutch national claims his arrest in Chile for the murder of Stephany Flores was executed without a proper warrant. He also states in the complaint that he was not given an official translator, which caused confusion.

"All this with the intention of pressuring me to accuse me of homicide," van der Sloot said in a document obtained by Peruvian television news program "24 Hours."

Van der Sloot, 22, has been charged with the premeditated murder of Flores in his hotel room in Lima, Peru - five years to the day after the 2005 disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway in Aruba.

He is the main suspect in Holloway's disappearance, but her body has never been found and he has never been charged.

According to Peruvian police, van der Sloot offered a complete confession to Flores' murder. Van der Sloot later claimed he only confessed because he was intimidated and was promised he would be extradited to the Netherlands.

He faces a sentence of 15 to 35 years, if convicted.

Those were prisoners carrying out the murders on the roof of one of the buildings; skinning alive one, burning alive another, slitting throats. They were suspected informants. Two women were raped, one of them died, literally raped to death, by the prisoners. You read too many stories by Maoists. Van der Sloot will not last too long there. Peruvian prisoners don't like foreigners, much less foreigners who kill Peruvian women.; Reply to this comment

Only one down fall if he is thrown into general population, he won't survive long and then we may never learn what happened to Natalee or where she is. On the other hand, however, even if he survives, he will probably never give Natalee up. It is a sick game of his. He feeds of the desperation and fear of her parents.

Its time to quit playing along with his sick game. Throw him in general population and let them finish him off. I'll pitch in $50 to the pot. I'm sure others will too.; Reply to this comment

First and foremost it was Interpol that sent out an International alert on Joran van der Sloot. They had a suspician he would be going to Chile. They gave direct orders to NOT arrest him in Chile but to detain him and bring him back to the Peru border which is exactly what Chile did. They did not arrest him. He was arrested in Peru. They did not put him in handcuffs and Joran speaks the language very well and told the the Chilian Interpol he did not kill Stephany. He loves all this attention and the media just can't get enough of it even though they misinterpret it and confuse what really transpires.; Reply to this comment

He is playing the media like a fiddle in an effort to build and further his defense(s), such as they may be. This individual is the master manipulator...reminds me of Hannibal Lechter from "Silence of the Lambs".
His mother is also, by all apearances, unbalanced...so it would appear "the apple does not fall far from the tree". Shut this guy down. No media exposure. Let justice take its course.; Reply to this comment

Why is he being granted access to the media? Since when does this happen to someone being held for a capital crime? Karma has nothing to do with this, that psychopath Van der Sloot did. Peru has got him and they need to keep them there. He shouldn't even be allowed to give an interview. He should be in with the general population and not be given any special treatment. No one will care if "something" happens to him in prison, Even his own mother has written him off.

by JaneWilder June 24, 2010 8:23 PM EDT: This particular prison is currently paying restitution for murdering prisoners they were supposed to transfer to a new area in 1992. The warden and other prison officials along with the military commenced a strike on the cell blocks to be transferred. The attack originated in a women's area and was planned to end on Mother's Day just to be even more cruel. It included grenades, sub-machine guns and other weapons used on unarmed prisoners. Pregnant and elderly women were murdered, beaten and guarded with unmuzzled dogs. Prisoners were executed in front of other prisoners. The injured were denied medical treatment and threats of harm were made against their families. The real shocker here is that The Peruvian authorities even care that a woman was brutally murdered. They may just want Joran to offer him a job.
