Torrence 'Lil Boosie' Hatch (WAFB)

BATON ROUGE, La. (CBS/WAFB) Baton Rouge-born rapper, Torrence Hatch, known to fans as Lil Boosie, was indicted by an East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury Thursday afternoon on a first-degree murder charge for his alleged involvement in a shooting incident in October that left one man dead, reports CBS affiliate WAFB.

According to District Attorney Hillar Moore, if convicted Hatch, who is already in prison for a probation violation, could face the death penalty.

Detectives told WAFB that Terry Boyd, 35, was shot to death on Oct. 21, when bullets were fired through a window of his Baton Rouge home. A grand jury also indicted Adrian Pittman, 36, and Michael Louding, 17, for first-degree murder in Boyd's death, said WAFB.

Hatch, 27, and his girlfriend Walnita Decur, 25, were also indicted on several drug-related charges.

This is not the first run in with the law for for the flashy rapper. In September, Hatch pleaded guilty to drug and gun charges after deputies confiscated marijuana and a gun from his car. Hatch is currently in jail for violating his probation in November for leaving his house, on more than one occasion, while sentenced to home confinement.

Hatch arrived on the music scene with his 2005 summer hit "Give Me That" and achieved subsequent commercial success with his pithy 2007 club anthem "Wipe Me Down." No trial date information has been released.

i dont think lil Boosie need a life in prison ! loke13...and how the hell do YOU know what he came from? This ass clown is charged with murder, and like it or not his ass will stand trial for it! It's the way sh*t goes! Here's an idea...If someone isn't in love with the idea of prison...Don't do sh*t that might land your ass in there! How does where he came from have SH*T to do with him being charged with murder? Huh? I don't know the ways of the world. Do you? What the hell have you done? Have you been to hell and back? Have you pulled your time in Afghanistan and Iraq, with all hell being unleashed on and around you? Don't tell me I don't know how the world operates, dip sh*t. Bottom line is, it isn't racism when a black guy murders someone, gets caught with a sh*t load of drugs, then gets arrested...Stop being f*cking idiot!!!!

I agree. I have to wonder where these people were educated....if they were at all. It doesn't sound like they were. What a shame to idolize an uneducated thug...Surely there must be some real role models for these people...sad

Reading these posts confirms that our educational system has failed. The man is going to go to trial and the evidence hopefully will be true and the jury will decide the outcome. Instead of you all trying to be tough with your childish language, why not set an example and get a proper education...you kids make me sick with your ramblings, thnking you know everything there is to know about the judicial system....just because you've been popped by the cops, makes you all experts?
