Another Philly Fan Runs onto Field: The Sequel is Never as Good as the Original

PHILADELPHIA (CBS/AP/KYW) For the second night in a row, a Phillies fan ran onto the field during a game. The first fan got 15 minutes of fame and a good tasering for his efforts; superfan No. 2, who disrupted the Phillies vs. Cardinals game at Citizen's Bank Park Tuesday night, however, got only a round of boos.

The Phillies were up 1-0 against St. Louis when 34-year-old Warminster, Pa. man Thomas Betz jumped the fence in left field and ran along the warning track waving his arms. Philadelphia fans were not pleased and booed the copycat.

Betz surrendered to security and has been charged with defiant trespass, disorderly conduct and narcotics possession. Unfortunately, beating a dead horse is not a criminal offense.

The night before, 17-year-old Steven Consalvi led police on a deeply amusing 30-second chase on the field, which ended when he was tasered by an officer.

CBS affiliate KYW reports that Consalvi's parents weren't pleased that police used a taser on their son. KYW reported that Consalvi's father said, "He definitely shouldn't run on the field. Fine him, whatever he gets for that. But tasering him? Definitely uncalled for."

The Phillies released a statement following Monday's incident that read, "The Police Department is investigating this matter and the Phillies are discussing with them whether in future situations this is an appropriate use of force under these circumstances."

Consalvi has been charged with defiant trespass, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, said police.

What a couple of gomers these two are. After they post their bail and pay their fines they better buy their mothers some flowers for mother's day if they want to do something to redeem themselves.; Reply to this comment
