NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Did a man charged with fatally shooting a Yale University doctor Monday have other targets in mind?

Police say they're not sure, but said Tuesday that 44-year-old Lishan Wang was arrested in possession of documents about two other people also involved in his dismissal from a New York hospital, plus 1,000 rounds of ammunition.

Wang, an unemployed doctor, was arraigned Tuesday and held on $2 million bail in the killing of Vajiinder Toor. The two had worked together at the hospital in New York City. Toor, originally from India, was shot five times Monday outside his home in Branford, Conn.

Printouts on two other people directly involved in Wang's dismissal were found in his van when he was arrested nearby, police said. The names were not disclosed.

Police said directions and a pedigree were also in the van, but the report blacks out further details. A pedigree typically involves details about a person such as where they live and work.

Police Lt. Geoffrey Morgan told The Associated Press investigators did not know what Wang intended to do with the information.

"Had we not captured him, I don't know what his future plans were," Morgan said.

Wang's van had the words "May-08-10" handwritten on a temporary plate displayed in the rear, police said. Wang was suspended from his job in May 2008 after a heated exchange with Toor at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in New York.

A wig, a hammer and a knife were also found in the van, police said.

Wang was found with handguns matching shell casings from the slaying scene, prosecutor Devant Joiner said in court. Investigators also found loaded magazines, Google directions to the shooting location and a picture of the victim, Joiner said.

Police say Wang also shot at Toor's pregnant wife, but missed. Wang is charged with murder, attempted murder and firearms offenses.

Wang had a history of confrontations with Toor and other colleagues at Kingsbrook that led to his dismissal, and he had a federal discrimination lawsuit pending against the hospital.

Wang hung his head throughout Tuesday's hearing and did not speak. No plea was entered. A Chinese citizen from Beijing, Wang was assisted by a Mandarin interpreter.

Wang's public defender, Scott Jones, requested his client be placed in protective custody. Jones declined to comment after the hearing. A judge found probable cause to hold Wang. The next hearing was set for May 11.

I express a deep sympathy for Dr. Wang because I, with Chinese origin, also experienced similar or even worse unfair treatments and wrongful termination for my PGY-1 residency. Dr. Wang is responsible for his criminal shooting. However, justice he has been pursing in saving his career that was damaged by the wrongful termination is not yet concluded. Dr. Wang?s lawyer filled his complaint in July 2009. The Court has not yet made a decision by my knowledge. Unfortunately, the tragedy occurs when a man loses patience in unpredictable waiting. To prevent the tragedy, the court should process the case sooner. I would like to coordinate victims of residency termination because of anti-Chinese discrimination to form a team to fight together. Please refer them to me. My email is johnyanglee@yahoo.com.

26. There was also a pattern of discriminatory behavior that persisted against Chinese residents with respect to the use of sick leave throughout Dr. Wang?s employment. Dr. Wang oserved that other residents of various religious backgrounds at KJMC could take time off to observe their holidays, while it was difficult for Dr. Wang and other Chinese residents to take sick leave. Dr. Wang is aware of at least one Chinese resident who was not allowed to take sick leave in November 2007 even though she presented a note with a physician?s diagnosis to the Department of Medicine.

27. In stark contrast, a non-Chinese resident did not show up for her assigned shift on the night of April 7, 2008, but she was apparently never questioned or disciplined for this. Another non-Chinese resident, Dr. Afridi, was continually late for work, frequently left early before her shift ended and did so without being questioned or disciplined.

It's a tragedy. However, you guys may not be aware that there is quite a portion of Indian people here in North America, they, maybe because of the habits from the Caste system, just want to step on top of others, especially of east Asian people, partly because of east Asian peoples' poor English and partly their cultural humbleness, specifically more harsh to Chinese people maybe further because of the competition and there was a war between the two countries. Unfortunately, Caucasian people cannot see this. It is very clever that in North America for now, for expanding living space, the best way for them is to kick the Asians out of the game first. Actually many many Chinese people said they had experienced bad treatment, tricks and traps from Indian colleagues and supervisors, but unfortunately, their poor English... ...
Again, Killing is absolutely bad. However, what had happened before that in Kingsbrook Hospital?
Hope those will also be fully investigated and uncovered, and let the world know the truths! This may be the best way to prevent such things happen again!
To Indian readers: please treat people equally between individuals and ethnic groups! This is North America! I do be willing to believe that there are indian people whose minds have already been fully out of the darkness of the notorious Caste system.
The Key point of my comment here is: How to prevent such things happenning again!

I guess it is hard to be a good doctor and good person. How many dirty tricks get played under the table by the "highly trained" and "smart" doctors will always remain unknown. All the conscientious ones will be fired for misconduct. Go! American Healthcare system! Go!

" Dr. wang lost his residency postion because of some dirty tricks played by this despicable Indian Toor and another one in charge of the ICU. After seeing some patients suffer from and even die of wrong treatment in that crappy hospital, Dr. Wang tried to help the others by revealing the truth. He was naive. "

" Those Indians lied and made up stories to hurt Dr. Wang from time to time. Hate to say it, but when they manipulated their power to destroy other people' life, they forgot there would be karma. "

That Toor even did not allow Dr. wang to leave when he was too sick to continue working there.

Hell no, no more protective custody for anyone. If he dies in the jailhouse, he deserves it. At the very least, he needs to learn the art of proctology the hard way.
