RENO, Nev. (CBS/AP) Ivanka Trump's alleged "obsessed" internet stalker was arrested in Reno Tuesday. Justin Massler, a 27-year-old from Reno, had a New York warrant out for his arrest alleging he used the internet to stalk Donald Trump's daughter.

Massler described himself in a blog posting as "a celebrity stalker who is obsessed with Ivanka Trump" and has a longing to see her.

"He has been doing postings all over the Internet. (He has done) nothing physical

or face to face," Reno police Lt. Mike Whan told The Associated Press.

His mother, Randee Massler of Reno, said he has a history of mental illness.

"He never harmed anyone and hasn't done anything other than write articles on the Internet," she told the Reno Gazette-Journal. "He's like a 10-year-old who has a crush on a movie star."

He remained Thursday without bail in the Washoe County Jail in Reno.

Whan said it was not immediately clear whether Massler planned to waive or fight extradition.

Ivanka Trump is the 28-year-old co-host of "Celebrity Apprentice," and a vice president at her father's real estate company.

Any time someone purposely uses any tool, phone, device or whatever to cause mental distress especially when he was asked to stop and ordered by the courts to stop, then it's really no longer a freedom of speech issue. I've seen some of his posts over time and I wouldn't want him on my personal network either and would most likely press charges if allowed to if it was done to me. Regardless if it's any web site where she's set up to interact with fans who act appropriately, then she has a right to not be assualted verbally or harrassed by an unwanted alleged stalker, if that is what he is found to be by the courts. Even though she may be a public figure then criminal law has the right to enforce civil law. It's illegal to harrass anyone by phone so why not a personal network as well? If not then there would be no purpose for a celebrity or company of any type to continue using the Internet if this was allowed because of the huge amount of people out there who harrass others even if just for kicks. I personally believe she deserves much better than that.

Where is the EFF and ACLU on this one?

This guy is going to have a mint on his hands when this is resolved, he's released and sues the "Reno 911" fools and the Keystone New York "Night Court" bailiffs for this sort of sheer stupidity. This is a conspiracy to deprive him of his rights: the Reno cops who are paid for by his tax dollars are in collusion with some jackass New York judge who deserves everything that the B-Tards of the internets can send his way? What a federal crime. Where is the FBI investigation of this process? This is criminal on the part of law enforcement.

He deserves the book deals, the talk show and the blog celebrity fame that will come to him as a result of this. I hope he sues the crap out of the city of Reno and the State of New York and that the citizen's tax dollars from each make him a fat millionaire. Serves them all right.

I know he would be very happy if your comment was accurate. Perhaps some of the things he wrote are "inappropriate" but he wasn't aware that free speech didn't allow criticism of a powerful family.

He was no threat to her personally.

Yep he's got that mentally defective glazed over look in his eyes that most stalkers have.

Ok ... so ... as we have seen in many news reports, in this country we have people being stalked *in person*, people being stalked/harassed by people they have restraining/no contact orders against, people are killed by in person stalkers and those that have restraining orders against them, and they are wasting police time and resources on some poor dweeb posting fantasy on an internet blog in Nevada based on a NY warrant?

Good gawds could the police give people better fodder for the *police only protect the rich" debate?
