NEW YORK (CBS) Rielle Hunter may not regret breaking her silence, but the GQ photo shoot which shows her pantless is breaking her heart.

Hunter reportedly "cried for two hours" after she saw the pictures she deemed "repulsive" that accompanied the 10,000 word interview she did with GQ magazine, according to Barbara Walters.

Monday morning, on "The View," Walters recounted a conversation she had with Hunter after Hunter saw the photos.

Hunter said she trusted the photographer, Mark Seliger, to take classy photos and just "went with the flow."

One of the photographs in question is of Hunter in sweat pants and a shirt lying on a bed with her daughter Francis Quinn, 2. Two other images show Hunter wearing only a white dress shirt and panties.

The GQ interviewer, Lisa DePaulo, said she spoke to hunter Sunday night and Hunter expressed reservations about the photographs but DePaulo hopes "she will come to see those photos as beautiful."

"I think it's cool that she's pretty and sexy," she told People magazine.

Conde Nast, GQ's publisher, says they're trying to reach the photographer and until then have have no comment.

The photo flap is the latest episode in the John Edwards saga which includes a court battle for his aide, Andrew Young, who stalled in handing over an alleged sex tape of Edwards and Hunter, and a slow moving investigation into whether or not Edwards improperly used presidential campaign funds in paying Hunter, who was his lover at the time.

Absolutely ENOUGH! John Edwards and Rielle Hunter are pathetic, immoral, selfish human beings. Child Protective Services should take a long look at the "fitness" of these two. For the sake of all, I hope not to read about them ever again.
PS Rielle, if you don't want salacious photos published, don't pose for them!

Gawd, what a skank...

If you POSE for pictures without your panties on, honey, you've already PROVEN you're an immoral little skank.

These are crocodile tears. She, in her usual shallow, narcissistic, immoral, self-promotional way, probably got all giddy and starry-eyed at the thought of a glamour shoot for GQ, and eagerly, happily posed for the photos. Then, after her attorneys saw them, they most likely told her to chill on the trampy, skanky stuff because it would be admissable evidence in the myriad lawsuits she no doubt intends to pursue. Either that, or she's such a sad, saggy old attention *****, she deliberately posed for the cheesy, ****** shots and manufactured a bogus controversy over them so she could get more publicity for her pantiless shots and get more people to look at them.

The woman is a disgusting old joke, and the only sympathy anyone should feel is for that poor child who isn't getting much of a start in this life.

I wondered that too...what crime? Oh maybe the oldest profession???

Did she not sign a release when she posed and agreed to be interviewed for the magazine article? I'm sure she did. I'll grant you the pic with all the stuffed animals looks stupid, but it's not because of her pantslessness. She had the authority to say "no" all the way... including when she was impregnated by Edwards.

She really is a grotesque and disgusting person. She looks like a pedophile now in addition to the vile homewrecker she is. On don't get me wrong, I blame that Edwards slime as well. Their legacy they passed on to their kid is how she was conceived behind the back of a seriously ill WIFE with cancer. Rielle Hunter is trash.

Ya, posing pantiless amidst a bunch of your little toddler's stuffed animals is pretty warped -- what kind of mother is she? A normal person, if asked to do such a thing, would show the photographer the door and call the cops. Sheesh! That poor kid!

Most of you sound like jealous women who can't hold onto a man. Shouting obscenities to a woman you don't know sounds pretty juvenile to me.

Yes, I am sorry for Elizabeth. But people get divorced all the time. Elizabeth needs to file for divorce and find someone with whom she is more compatible with.

I agree farver4girls.
I'm so tired of everyone victimizing Mrs. Edwards. All three of them are consenting adults.

Nothing jealous about my ability to hold on to my man. Shouting obscenities? Just because you lost your man doesn't mean the rest of us did. I'm proud to be in a loving marriage between two people that has lasted for a very long time. Devoted spouses don't get divorced all the time. We made vows that meant something to us. In sickness and in health does not mean, "I will take a tramp for a lover in an affair while you suffer with cancer". Give it a break. There's nothing juvenile about being repulsed by that dirty tramp.

I am sorry for Elizabeth, but I wish people would be more forgiving of John Edwards and Rielle Hunter.

Elizabeth suffered from cancer. That was a major stress to her entire family. John's running for president compounded the stress. I believe John acted inappropriately with Rielle because of the severe stress he was experiencing.

I also think that John may not really have wanted to become president, but Elizabeth really wanted to live in the White House. Maybe he did not know how to tell Elizabeth that he wanted to back out. His affair with Rielle was a way to get out of the election.

John and Rielle have a child together. I think the cruel words people say about her parents will hurt their little girl. Regardless of how you feel about her parents, it isn't the little girl's fault.

Oh puleeze!! Lots of people are diagnosed with cancer, and lots of people have stressful jobs and situations -- situations, btw, not of their choosing unlike Edwards' campaign which WAS of his choosing in the face of his wife's cancer -- and they don't skank and tomcat around like immoral pigs. No sympathies for any of these people. They're all equally appalling.

"...Hunter said she trusted the photographer, Mark Seliger, to take classy photos and just "went with the flow."...

What part of "take your pants off" made her think these photos would be "classy?"

It would have been better if she had kept her mouth shut and had some people think that she was a $$$$$, then open her mouth and prove that she was a $$$$.

She must have known when she pose with just a shirt and pants that it would grace the cover of GQ.
