BURBANK, Calif. (CBS/AP) Amy Beck, a teacher at David Starr Jordan Middle School, is being accused of having sex and oral sex with a 14-year-old student.

The 33-year-old English and social science teacher is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on four counts of unlawful sex with a person under 16, and one count of oral copulation with a person under 16, according to Contra Costa Times.


Beck was booked on suspicion of lewd or lascivious acts with a child of 14 or 15 years and was held on $400,000 bail, Burbank police Sgt. Robert Quesada said to CBS affiliate KCAL.

"She said she had sexual relations with one of her students," Quesada said. Police interviewed the boy "and confirmed that the acts did occur" between March and September of 2009.

Burbank police spokesman Keith Sterling told The Associated Press the boy was 14 at the time. Prosecutors say the married mother of three faces up to seven years in prison if convicted of all charges.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call Burbank police Detective Wally Schilling at (818) 238-3254.

Dude, if anybody was in his place, like any straight 14 yr old guy they wouldve done the same exact thing, i mean dat chick is a 9/10 at the least! i mean im not sayin that wat she did wasnt wrong, that was frikkin horrible but i mean everyone that knows wat it is to b a guy at 14 would know, he wanted sum and he got sum, got pretty lucky tooo...


But look at it this way,if it was a HAWT 33 yr old guy having sexual relations with a 14 yr old girl, "ohhh wat a monster!" "thats Atrocious!" but now that its flipped, ohhh man that boy gt lucky, dont blame the girl, girls never do anything wrong! no give her the same thing u wud to a guy, they want equal rites give them extayl that, stick very tru to that word ladies, dont "do" little boys its a sick thing!



i wudda done the same thing tho. . . im a hypocrite in alotta ways but its like both ways for anyone

this is absolutely WRONG ..ERONG ...WRONG ..wether its a boy or a gir ltha *** happens to they are stilla child (underage ) might i remind you , which there for is ILLEGAL ... I think all child predators man or waman deserve the max penalty..if this was a man he could easily get 10 years ...(should be longer ) but in my opinion they are to easy on the female teachers that do this ..They nned to be stricter and obviously the school needs to have meeetings or groups to educate and prevent these things from happening ...I HOPE THIS SEX OFFENDER GETS A LOOOOONG TIME IN JAIL ...in now way is it cool or justified because she might be "HOT" what if the teacher was ugly then would you still think it was cool ??? didn't think so.......

Talk about being born too late!(me). I always liked mature, older women as a kid but that scene wasn't going on then. Now I sit here hearing about cougar parties one day, another female teacher - young boy student the next day. Sheesh! When I was that age, women said they were only interested in love!

Geez...... that boy must seriously be traumatized.... having sex at such a young age.... do you think that he can live with himself? Yeah, right.... I would have loved to be in this boy's shoes! If you're a very mature boy, what makes the state or gives the state the right to tell you whether you can have sex or not???? It's your body, and you're not being forced against you will to have sex. He could stop at any given time. Hell, if I were that boy in this situation, I would be jumping for joy and banging this HOT HOT teacher all night long. What a lucky guy! A fantasy definitely turned into reality. He was made into a man overnight. Where are all these women teachers when I was in grade school????

ibsteve2u: She's 33, a Wife & a Mother. He's 14. If a 33 y.o. Male Teacher did this to a 14 y.o. Girl he would get the Max. & rightly so. Are you trying to say that since this kid is a Male that it's his fault?

ah, maybe I do know why some of the public is all over this.

I would guess that the horrible frustration of not getting laid when the sex drives starts pounding, pounding, pounding away at you could turn you into a rightie; in attempting to stifle sex, the righties are just trying to reproduce.

These cases are more of an example of the breakdown of chivalry than anything else, if you ask me.

What happened to "A gentleman never tells."? I used to despise my high school peers who would brag about having had sex with such and such a girl - that was just wrong.

We used to thunk guys like that...now these youngsters do it and claim to be the victims - and some of the public encourages that!

The answer is there is no sky santa, so with that out of the way, puberty is now starting YOUNGER because over time this biologic activity changed due to better nutrition, better medical care and a bunch of reasons.
You see the same thing in dogs- they have 2 breeding seasons a year except the Basenji which is a dog from Africa. Domestic dogs' breeding seasons changed over time due to much better nutrition, health care and environment, wild wolves etc have ONE breeding season.
