NBC bookers have been working overtime to secure high-profile guests for Jay Leno's return to "The Tonight Show" next week, and among the coveted guests they've landed is former Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

Palin will appear on the show on Tuesday, where she will be accompanied by Gold Medal Snowboarder Shaun White, according to the network.

Though NBC doesn't name the musical guest for that episode, Gawker notes that openly gay former "American Idol" contestant Adam Lambert has announced he will be performing on "The Tonight Show" that very evening.

On the issue of homosexuality, Palin told CBS News' Katie Couric in September 2008 that she is "not going to judge Americans and the decisions that they make in their adult personal relationships." She also suggested that homosexuality is a choice, saying that a close gay friend of hers "happens to have made a choice that isn't a choice I would have made."

Other guests in Leno's first week back on "The Tonight Show" include Lindsey Vonn, Morgan Freeman and Jamie Foxx.

Can't wait to see Sarah on Leno. Jay knows how to start his new show off with a bang. His ratings will skyrocket with Sarah Palin! She is a lovely, bright, articulate, genuine individual. You haters oppose her because she doesn't agree with your agenda. Newsflash! Most of America doesn't. Hate her all you want, marginalize, demean and disparage 'til the cows come home, but you will just make her more popular and beloved.

WHEN, WHEN, ARE YOU GOING TO STOP WITH THE "OPENLY GAY" CRAP ? HOW ABOUT AMAZING TALENTED ADAM LAMBERT. IT'S SICKING ! AND REPLACING ADAM, WITH PALIN, IS LIKE PROVIDING EMPTY AIR TIME. SHE IS IGNORANT, RUDE, AND A COMPLETE HYPOCRITE. JAY AND ADAM WERE GREAT TOGETHER. THEY ARE INTELLIGENT, ARTICULATE, AND HAVE A WONDERFUL HUMOR. BETTER NOT ASK PALIN ANYTHING. SHE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT MAGAZINES SHE READS, IF SHE READS AT ALL.

Sarah Palin reveals her ignorance of homosexuality by her comments about her friend's "choice". Tons of information based on medical and scientific research (some from Brigham Young University) proves that homosexuality is a physically, physiologically, and genetically based trait, like left-handedness and blue eyes. It is never a choice. I hope Adam Lambert is back on again, he and Jay had a great dialogue last time he was on and his performance was outstanding. I'll be watching!

Lucky Jay Leno. His ratings will skyrocket into the stratosphere. Gov. Sarah Palin is beautiful and beloved. She is the People's Princess.

Letterman publicly apologized to $arah for joking about Bristol's pregnancy. Is Leno going to do the same?....or does she remain the hypocrite that she is calling Leno's jokes 'satire'?

"Jay Leno, however, is in high-favor with the half-term governor. Sarah, what?s the difference between jokes about your daughter being impregnated by Alex Rodriguez and John Edwards? Do tell."

"On September 2, 2008, Jay Leno joked: ?Governor Palin announced over the weekend that her 17-year-old unmarried daughter is five months pregnant. Oh, boy, you thought John Edwards was in trouble before, now he?s really done it!?

There's more......

Jay Leno always had the highest late night ratings for a reason. He is funny and has great guests. Don't care for Sarah Palin but will watch in order to be open minded. It will be more palatable if Adam Lambert is the musical guest--he has a great voice and would love to see the two of them sit on the same couch together.

It was amazing how she knew before the rest of us that David Letterman is unscrupulous. She had him pegged after his joke about a baseball player knocking up her daughter. The media mocked her, and in the end she was right. Every attack she endures ends with the attacker being put in their place. 60 Minutes thought they had her, only to find out she had written about the "revelations", as CBS put it, in her book.

yet another reason not to watch. the unintelligent ex-governor with no sense of humor being interviewed by the epically unfunny ex-comedian.
