Coakley Attack Ad Misspells "Massachusetts"

This post is from CBS Station WBZ in Boston.

(youtube.com)
Martha Coakley's first attack ad in the special election to fill Ted Kennedy's Senate seat had an embarrassing mistake in it.

Massachusetts was misspelled at the end.

"Paid for by Massachusettes Democratic Party…" the text read at the bottom of the commercial's final seconds.

When asked about it Tuesday, Coakley said she was not aware of it.

The mistake was corrected for future airings.

I hope the voters in MA remind Obama, Gergen, Coakley, and the liberal elites that it is not Kennedy?s senate seat but it is the peoples? senate seat

Coakley was in Washington to get money for her campaign from insurers and drug companies. Obama made deals with insures, the American Bar Association, Trail Lawyers Association, and with pharmaceuticals companies. This is why there is no malpractice insurance relief for doctors in the health reform bills. Insurers want to collect the high premiums from doctors and lawyers want to continue suing doctors. We are not getting any relief from high drug prices because Obama agreed to block any attempts by Congress to get lower drug prices. In return the pharmaceutical companies spent millions of dollars on TV commercials and newspaper and magazine advertising supporting Obamacare.

"The Massachusettes" is the official name of the University of Massachusetts Synchronized Skating team.

She was just trying to give a free plug for her favorite athletic team.

Of course they misspelled the state's name! It's Ted Kennedy's seat, not one that belongs to the State! Notice that even CBS can't call it "The Senate seat vacated by Ted Kennedy". They have to call it "Ted Kennedy's Senate Seat", as though it's a birthright.

Very revealing!!!

Interesting that the folks who normally support the Republican ideology and/or candidates aren't pulling out their favorite polling organization's numbers on this race.

You know the one that they always tout as "most accurate".

I don't agree with that for a minute, but I do know RASMUSSEN has Coakley ahead in Massachusetts by 9 points.

Other polls have her with a bigger lead, though one poll (from what I have read, it is only one...) has Brown ahead by 1 point.

We'll see, but I wouldn't be waiting for the happy faces on Brown's team. Honestly, it would be a big upset and that doesn't seem likely. God willing and the roads don't all freeze up... it's Senator Coakley next week.

FAIRRADIO says:
Does anyone think this country is better off than we were in 2006 when Democrats took over Congress?
The solution is simple: Never, never, ever vote for a liberal Democrat again!!!!

I think we are much better off now. Yes we have had some tough times and things are still difficult for a lot of Americans... but the focus is correct. The recession we are in would have happened regardless of who was in Congress in 2006... or several years before. This has been coming for much longer.
You'd have to understand economics to get this point and since you seem very single minded and focused only on the politics of the issue, you probably won't understand.

By the way -- Democrats are not all "liberals". It is a coalition party with liberals, moderates and liberals.

Seriously, do you think Ben Nelson is a liberal?

If so, you may be dumber than a fifth... no first, grader!

Correction:

"It is a coalition party with liberals, moderates and CONSERVATIVES."

I am a native Mainer..Maine had different spellings at one time.Maine was once apart of MA. That was before Mar 15,1820...MA was given an e at the end by err. Maybe it was a person not from there. I once spelt my friend name name as it sounded having never heard the proper spelling..I can't that well and the reason I am blind from birth..I use the short forms of the states as given by the post office. Maine was named by King Charles. No one's spelling /grammar is err proof as we are humans..

the last thing coakley should do is run scott's picture in her ads.
he's a good-looking, appealing guy, but she looks like a wrinkled old hag. She'd be better off showing stacks of money, or a mushroom cloud or sumthin. All she's doing is drawing more attention to him.

seriously, if you can't manage your ad campaign, and you can't even spell the name of the state you're running in, it's just pathetic.
Can you imagine applying for a job and misspelling the name of the company you supposedly want to work for? How well do you think that would go over?

You have to wonder if she can't hire people who can spell - what makes anybody think she can be a senator??

And don't even TRY to claim it wasn't Democrats. Every single one of those miscreant SOB's voted for Obama.

I looked it up before you posted your link. The protest happened in March of 2006. I'm not sure where you get the idea that those particular protesters represent the Democratic Party, any more than the "Tea-baggers" who hold up signs portraying our President as a Nazi represent all members of the GOP. The people holding the banner are the only ones that you know for sure hold that belief. The rest of the people there may well have been run of the mill war protesters who didn't even realise what the sign in front of them said.

No, the only thing that I'm questioning is your assertion that you ever voted for a Democrat...

I bet he can balance his checkbook though! I wonder if CBS can balance their checkbook? If you can balance your checkbook you might know that running stupid stories pushing liberals doesn't pay.
