Statue of Ten-Year-Old Obama Erected in Indonesia

(AP)
Mr. Obama lived in Indonesia from 1967 to 1971, when he was a boy. He lived and attended elementary school not far from where the statue now stands.
The statue, at left, shows the child version of the president smiling as he looks at a butterfly poised on his thumb.
It was erected with the goal of inspiring Indonesian children.
"We welcome the statue, which is designed to give Indonesian children the spirit to reach their dreams," Central Jakarta Mayor Sylviana Murni said, according to the Associated Press.
The statue reportedly cost more than $10,000 and was paid for by patrons, a television station and a charity.
When he lived in Indonesia, as the AP notes, Mr. Obama had a pet monkey and saw baby crocodiles swimming in a pond near his house. He also got a first-hand view of the country's poverty.

- Most people feel better after a bowel movement. Did you see him give his speech in Copenhagen today and collect the 1.4 million dollar prize and gold medal? Nah, I suppose not.

- maybe he should go be president in Indonesia. It seems he has spent much more time living in other countries then in the US which would explain a lot. good job on electing a kenian/indonesian/muslim who isn't even american, I won't even get into the inexperience of this joker. it's no wonder why him and his wife hate America and bend over backwards for other nations, he is not even from America. WOW it is stunning to me that he has an approval rating in the double digits let alone 40 something % just shows you how many america haters we have living here taking advantage of our system, eating our food, living on our land, using our resources, earning money just to send it to their home country, being educated or trained here for what so they can bad mouth America and call themselves a citizen of some other country when does America start asking what these non-US citizens can do for us not how can we help them and there country and get shi* on in return. I'am sure for many people that might be to blunt and not politicaly correct but when are we going to start being honest with ourselves and say screw politicaly correct. close the borders and send the foreigners home. don't cry about it now. If you went to most countries around the world you would definetly not be treated half as good as foreigners are treated here. don't have a house oh here we will help you buy one get approved, land no problem, transportation sure, uneducated here's a nice large united blah blah college fund, what else would you like. you need some spending money oh that guy dosn't need his job here take his, don't have a job to steal don't worry we call this wellfare its free money, now don't forget who loves you and feal free to spit on me and curse me anytime you want thanks for shopping at USA come again or don't even leave we don't care. sounds funny but the scary thing is I am not to far off. What the **** is that

- You poor thing. Concentrate on yourself and your own accomplishments or lack thereof and stop focusing so much hatred toward a man you don't even know. I'm glad he's President. I'm proud to have voted for him. He can't mess up as badly as the last Administration no matter what he does in my book. I hope you put as much energy into your own life as you do absorbing and repeating lies about him and his family.

- Move over......I want to share that bandwagon with you. More people should call a spade a spade. When I look at our Kenyan president I don't see black or white.....I SEE RED.
