Tomato Thrown at Sarah Palin During Book Signing

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Bloomington Police say a man threw a tomato at former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin during her Monday appearance at the Mall of America, but didn't hit her.

Officers say two of their own were hit by tomato fragments instead, after the tomato hit the stage about 10 feet from Palin. People on the second level balcony, where the tomato was thrown from, helped police apprehend the man accused of throwing it.

Police identified him as 33-year-old Jeremy Paul Olson from St. Paul, but they think he also goes by the name Jeremiah Wobbe. Police said he was arrested and booked on assault and disorderly conduct charges. Officers added that when they arrested him, they found two more tomatoes he'd been carrying.

Palin was at the mall signing copies of her book, "Going Rogue," for four hours Monday. She did not address the crowd, but did speak individually to owners of the books she signed.

In the political world rogue has a different definition. Politically a "rogue" is someone who doesn't always follow their political party's views or directions. That describes Sarah Palin. Your definitions DO NOT!

The guy who tossed the tomato at Palin is my hero. He should have been throwing horse turds at that fraud. Anyone who is considering supporting this semi-illiterate (who doesn't even read) for ANY public office should have their head examined.

50BMS13: You're absolutely right. She's nice, intelligent lady who has been treated unfairly since she came on the national scene. The more people see of her the more they like her. This is just another reason why we need to keep tomatoes out of the hands of loonies. Tomatoes are vastly underrated as a weapon and can be very dangerous in the wrong hands. While we're at it, let's regulate all the harder fruits and vegetables too. God knows they are just plain dangerous!!!
