Mayor Says "Muslim" Obama Blocked Charlie Brown

Russell Wiseman, the mayor of Arlington, Tennessee, wrote a post on his Facebook page suggesting President Obama purposely preempted "The Charlie Brown Christmas Special" with his speech on the war in Afghanistan Tuesday evening.

Wiseman suggested the president is Muslim. Many Christians have embraced "The Charlie Brown Christmas Special" for what they percieve as a Christian message.

Here's what Wiseman wrote, as reported by the Commercial Appeal: "Ok, so, this is total crap, we sit the kids down to watch 'The Charlie Brown Christmas Special' and our muslim president is there, what a load.....try to convince me that wasn't done on purpose. Ask the man if he believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and he will give you a 10 minute disertation (sic) about it....w...hen the answer should simply be 'yes'...."

"...you obama people need to move to a muslim country...oh wait, that's America....pitiful," he wrote.

Added Wiseman: "you know, our forefathers had it written in the original Constitution that ONLY property owners could vote, if that has stayed in there, things would be different........"

Arlington is a suburb of Memphis. Contacted by the Commercial Appeal, Wiseman suggested the newspaper was "trying to make a mountain out of a molehill." He did not comment on the content of his post.

President Obama is Christian, not Muslim.

As WREG in Memphis notes, one of the mayor's Facebook friends sent the post to the newspaper.

I am just wondering why do Obama's supporters deffend him and say he is not a Muslim he is Christian. I mean obama went around the world saying the US is not a christian nation, no true christian would do that. Whats the big deal if the Presidents just says he is a an athiest from what I seen thats what he is, he surely isn't christian or muslim.

I really don't care what he believes in as long he doesn't force those believes on me.

We have people here who practice almost every religion you can name. Simply having a majority of people who practice Christianity does NOT, per se, make the US a Christian nation. And whose version of Christianity would it be, anyway: the Baptists? Methodists? Seventh Day Adventists? Catholics? Greek Orthodox? Russian Orthodox? Christian Scientists? Episcopalians? Lutherans? The list goes on and on. You get my point.

I don't worship Charlie Brown as christ and Snoopy was not an apostle . Lucy was always seemed like a secular figure to me . According to the mayor of some village in Tennessee, the President of the US is a practicing Muslim who deliberately scheduled a televised speech to pre-empt the broadcast of a cartoon critical to delivering some deep Christian message to the village's children.

He is a Muslim....watch the video Nick_Sea posted. All 10 minutes of it. If you watch the whole thing and still feel he is not a muslim and pro-Islam I would like to hear about it. I watched it. It is as plain as day.

Even if Obama is a Muslin it dos not change the fact that he is OUR president an he has been doing a decent job so far! I could care less about Obama's religious beliefs as long as he is doing his job!

My suggestion is to drop the sour grapes about your beloved GOP getting their tails handed to them in 2008 because of incompetence and move on!

by Justaneocon December 6, 2009 1:10 PM EST: It is debatable on the good job he has done but I do have to agree who cares what he pretends to be from day to day. We have all seen the only things that he bases his decisions on are polls.

So if he is in a room of Muslims he will be a Muslim if he playing to the Christians he will pretend to be Christian. He has no political fortitude at all his standings change as the winds of the polls change
