Obama to Attend Climate Change Summit

(CBS)
CBS News has confirmed that President Obama will attend the United Nations climate change summit next month in Copenhagen, according to senior administration officials.

Mr. Obama will be in Denmark on December 9 for the summit, which is expected to have at least 65 world leaders, according to the Associated Press. It was unknown until now whether Mr. Obama would attend the meeting, which is designed to create a new global treaty on climate change.

The president's visit to Copenhagen comes just before he heads to Oslo, Norway, to accept the Nobel Peace Prize the following day.

This is not a good move for the President, first because of what endurorob_5 said (no change of a treaty being created let alone signed) but there is a growing scandal in the climate change debate that if true it would be wise for him distance himself with anything that has to do with climate change, untill it works it way out. He needs to send a grunt to this conference.

Also I am disappointed in his going to Norway to collect his Nobel. He would have been better served to not except the award, untill he really does something Peace Prize worthy. This only flames the fires of what many believe that obama has a narcissistic personality.

This is a waste of time. World leaders have already said there is no chance of a treaty being created let alone signed. Just another opportunity for Obama to add to his travel record.
