After "47 percent" comments, Romney makes direct appeal to jobless voters in new ad

(CBS News) In his first direct-to-camera ad of the campaign season, Mitt Romney appeals directly to jobless voters, suggesting that he, not President Obama, will deliver new jobs to struggling Americans.

"Too many Americans are struggling to find work in today's economy. Too many of those who are working are living paycheck to paycheck, trying to make falling incomes meet rising prices for food and gas," Romney says in the spot, released Wednesday. "More Americans are living in poverty than when President Obama took office and 15 million more are on food stamps."

The ad, in which Romney addresses the camera head-on for a full 60 seconds, casts Mr. Obama as a decent man but a failed leader.

"President Obama and I both care about poor and middle-class families. The difference is my policies will make things better for them," Romney says. "We shouldn't measure compassion by how many people are on welfare. We should measure compassion by how many people are able to get off welfare and get a good paying job. My plan will create 12 million new jobs over the next four years-helping lift families out of poverty and strengthening the middle class."

"I'm Mitt Romney and I approve this message because we can't afford another four years like the last four years," he finishes.

On the heels of a series of campaign struggles, Romney has seen dips in his poll numbers - including in a new set of Quinnipiac/CBS News/New York Times battleground polls released this morning, which show Mr. Obama opening up significant leads in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida. Last week, the candidate fielded particular criticism when a secretly-taped video was released featuring Romney referring to 47 percent of Americans as dependent on government and who view themselves as victims.

The pro-Romney super PAC Restore Our Future is out with an ad today that also appeals to voters' personal sensibilities: The ad, entitled "Kindergarten," asks Americans to consider if their young children's futures have improved since Mr. Obama took office.

"If your daughter was one-year old when President Obama was inaugurated, she just started kindergarten. Is her future getting better?" a narrator in the ad asks. "Under Obama, America is experiencing the worst economic recovery since the Great Depression. Counting people who have dropped out or stopped looking for work, the real unemployment rate is 19 percent. Obama has added more debt than the first 41 presidents - combined. Is America going forward? Or backward?"

If the Republican Congress will not give Obama what the poor and middle class and the economy needs in general, which also benefits economic growth to generate tax revenue so as Our Government can pay her bills and maintain a healthy economy and lifestyle, why would that same Republican Congress give to Mitt Romney the same thing they would not give to President Obama. If they did, we would all know there is a Fox in the hen house for sure. In other words, Mitt Romney, to deal with that Congress would have to give up your Social Security, your Medicare, you right to everything you now have through President Obama. Mitt Romney would set back the working class people in America, equal to the working class people in China, then your houses would drop in price to what they are in China because no one could afford to own one except the rich and they would own all the property and you could rent from them. They would go back to when the Coal companies dug the coal, built the houses and rented to the miners, built the grocery store and sold groceries to the miners. Corporations would own our soul. Don't let this happen, vote for Barack Obama for another 4 years and enjoy your like while Obama is fighting for you.

Because of the undeniable fact that the Obama administration failed to deal with longstanding foreign security concerns, we are getting another story every single day.
And, because of Obama's self-stated successes, Obama's administration has to do damage control on his administration's incompetent and bungled response to
repeated security threats in the region.
I am beyond disgusted and incredibly pissed that this level of outright dishonesty exists with the very people who are supposed to
expose lies and help us keep this an open honest government.

Obama sucks..Biden is a buffoon

You cannot fool us. We know a con job when we hear one. Now that you found out that we, the living off the government poor, the working poor, and the would-be middle class if the taxes we pay would decrease from 49% to 14%, will be voting for the other guy, you are trying to change your story. Well, it's not going to work. You do not care anything about us, from the middle-class, down to the abject poor, we see through you.

Wo! Dumb and ignorant to. Nice talking points. Obama spews forth the lies and you voice them for him. Nice job! You might try to really listen to what Romney says and DOES for the middle class before you spew this kind of nonsense out like a machine. And while you are at it you might want to look at what Romney does with his money! He gives more than Obama and all the Democrats in the administration and Senate combined. Liberals like to spend other peoples money but aren't much good at using their own!

You are a great talking head, RLDVS! How does it feel to be used and abused?

Hey Romney,

I want to see the 'Long' version of your Federal Income Tax returns for the last 10 years.

I want to see the 'Long' version of your birth certificate.

I want to see how much money do you have hidden in Swiss and Cayman banks.

Then, I will re-consider you.

Speaking from a direct answer from the question posed with this precise ad, the answer will be determine by you the reader.

Bringing in a second equation of children growing up before the president obamas administration, they have sincerely Been affected by media sindication. Our current FCC enforcement has grown to be a huge compliance empire echo in our children growth surrounding. The effects of older people lack of attention disorder rumbles across our communities were in the past the sound of children playing should be echo the streets. Yes our local communities have been overly umbrellad with FCC job miss used to simulate law enforcment, rather than contain musical radio broadcast from effecting our young children and ruining children growth channel (Sprout,Disney junior, and they contribute to thier constant echo and plead of guilty with other channels broadcast through TV networks stating its the might and strength.

Our lives aren't CNBC

The bottom line is to understand that the man in the sky is no longer welcome to ecchoo in our children virgin parrifiral surrounding were their continuos government might rumbles of never ness from the failures that continue to appear.

I describe it to the home town community as a adult problem, were thier lack of self control shouldn't directly effect children. This discovery was defined in the tele communication industry as morse code. When it forces our children to disifer, and medical condition of continuous adult mental malalstation is diagnos by children legal advavicates, we all stand to question if large federal government real are neccisary, rather then strong local home town communities.

Normally I d would answer directly, tho I believe stating the facts will help the reader to derive a true opinion rather then a hedge opinion.

His plan to create jobs for the jobless by giving more tax-breaks to corporations to create jobs is phony. His 2011 taxes show that he pocketed $13 millions in profits. How many jobs did he create -excluding the campaign staff which is paid by contributors. None! And if he give more tax cuts to his corporations, his net profit will skyrocket, not jobs.

Corporations won't hire people to sit idle and do nothing in order to distribute Romney's tax cuts - if the consumers are in the poorhouse and cannot afford to buy anything. The tax cuts must go to the poor by cutting the 15% tax to 10% for people making less that $50.000 a year! That would leave the majority of Americans with a $ 5% surplus to spend and re-vitalize the economy!

The problem with Romney-nomics is that he owes a lot to the rich that fund his campaign, and he wants to kick back some more tax-cuts to them as a "thank you" gesture! That is not a program for the jobless; that is insult-to-injury! Nikos Retsos, retired professor
