Madonna endorses Obama, calls him Muslim

(CBS News) In expletive-ridden comments during a Monday night concert, Madonna used her celebrity platform to urge Americans to vote for President Obama - but in doing so, according to Politico, she mistakenly referred to the president as "Muslim," propagating a long-since debunked myth many see as fueled by racial subtexts.

Politico reports that at the concert in Washington, D.C., Madonna told voters that the fact that we "have a black Muslim in the White House" is evidence that there is "hope" in America.

"Y'all better vote for f******g Obama, OK? For better or for worse, we have a black Muslim in the White House," Madonna said, according to the report. "That's some amazing s**t. It means there is hope in this country."

She also said Obama "is fighting for gay rights," entreating the crowd to "support the man goddamnit!"

According to The Hill, Madonna took her shirt off and pulled her pants down at one point to reveal that "OBAMA" was written on her lower back.

According to a July report from the Pew Research Center, approximately 17 percent of Americans believe Obama is Muslim. It's unclear whether Madonna is among those voters, or whether she was being facetious.

If she spoke in ignorance, she is singularly unread and uninformed. If she spoke in jest, It didn't come off that way for many Americans. If she was being satirical or ironic, she was way too subtle.

Regardless, Madonna didn't do the Obaminator any favors with her endorsement and however much he MAY be ahead in the polls the only one that counts is the one taken on November 6.

We really should get past the Faith issue. I am bitterly opposed to Romney because he is a malicious, mean spirited aristocrat who is completely out of touch with what made America great and NOT because he is a Mormon.

I am not in favor of the "O" man, either and I won't go into all the reasons why but even if he was a Muslin (and just so you know, he is not. never had been, not even when he was livivng in Indonesia) my feelings toward him would be the same; mild hostility.

If polls show Obama pulling ahead the market will tank just like October 2008 when McCain started to fade. The smart money will pull out of the markets just like then.
